Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

W00T! Checked in yesterday ... reserved a standard / garden view... they did not sprinkle any pixie dust on us... they shot it at us with a cannon! To our great surprise we were upgraded to a turret suite on the 3rd floor (rm 3155) ... it is amazing!! We are very grateful that Disney did that... how cool! I will post pictures after we return :0
:lmao: @ the visual of the pixie dust coming from a cannon. That sure is extra special! Have a great trip!

I'm so excited... we just booked our next trip and it will be this August! We will be doing a split stay with AKL. Our dates for YC will be Aug. 25-Aug. 31 and we will be CELEBRATING our 20th Wedding Anniversary, along with our oldest daughter's 18th birthday! Unbelievable!!!!

I'm a little scared about how hot it will be but this was the only time that worked well with our schedules, school and was super close to her birthday and our anniversary. I'm sure we will have a blast cooling off in SAB!!!

We did an AKL/BC split last June and it was perfect! They are so different it was like two vacations in one. We did BC last as it's our favorite resort and AKL was new to us. We're hoping for a good AP discount this year because if there is we'll likely do the same split.

The 2017 F&W began on Thursday Aug 31st so if the dates are similar you would be there the first day or two of F&W!

Enjoy!

Yes!!! We LOVE AKL and we LOVE being in the Epcot resort area... you are right, 2 different vacations in one!

And that is good to know about F&W! thank you!!! :-)

Just an FYI for anyone staying at BCV today.

We were napping in our room today when we got a knock on the door from “Guest Services” telling us they were replacing the door locks. It took about 5 min but they had to leave the door open when they were working on it. I heard them knocking and opening doors all down the hallway and replacing locks even if the guest wasn’t there.

We had trouble with our magic bands and the door locks when we first checked in and saw some others with the same issue at the front desk. So maybe it’s related to that!

We were at the Beach Club last week and came back to the room every afternoon for a nap. The room hadn’t been cleaned two of those afternoons. We hung the sign on the door and they never knocked on the door when that sign was up. They did call the room late in the afternoon to ask when they could service the room. I asked them to come when we were at dinner. I don’t know if they ever showed up to inspect the room since the room hadn’t been cleaned when they said they would do it. But we were never disturbed by security.

We woke up this morning to find the doors to our room had been opened during the night (we had the security latches on) ... that kind of skeeves me out

I have family that will be visiting while we are at BC in July. We are having dinner at Trattoria al Forno. They will most likely want to hang out for a bit after dinner. Would they be able to swim with us at SAB? Does anyone have any experience with this? I have read on there that at times guards will issue wrist bands for entrance to SAB so you don't have to have your MB scanned over and over (especially with the slide). Just curious how to tell them to plan for that evening. TIA!!!

P.S. Can't wait for our first stay at BC!

Only registered guests staying at the YC/BC are allowed to use Stormalong Bay.

As pointed out above, only registered guests of the Yacht & Beach are permitted to use Stormalong Bay. Even DVC members staying elsewhere, who I believe are able to use other resort pools, are restricted from SAB.

There are several places around the resort where you can hang out together-

Any of the 3 quiet pools, the Beach Club Solarium or the lobby are a few of the choices. There are also few places around the resort where you can see some of the Illuminations and Hollywood Studios fireworks if they are there after dark.

Last time we were at BC we had some local friends visit after dinner. We walked over to the BW for ice cream, watched the magician's show, and then we went to Martha's Vineyard and played cards.

You might also consider watching the higher fireworks from Epcot's Illuminations show. You can get a fairly good view standing on the bridge leading from the Boardwalk to the BC and Epcot.

Another way to spend some extra time together is to ride the FriendShip boat from one end of the voyage to the other (Epcot to Hollywood Studios). If you time it right, you just might be able see the fireworks from both parks, while on the boat. If you will be there for the 4th of July holiday, the extra fireworks at the end of Illuminations are spectacular!

Thanks for all of the ideas of things to do around the area. I kind of figured they wouldn't be able to use SAB, but wasn't positive. We will definitely do some of the things mentioned above and/or swim at the quiet pool if they feel like swimming.

Hi, we've been to the BC before but never used the kids club. I've heard these are closing later this year but we were going to try it when we stay in May. Were traveling with 2 other families and we each have a 6yo girls.

The adults had planned to go to HS after dropping the girls off but I've just found out that park is closing early that night.

Has anyone used the club and what was it like, I wouldn't have put our DD in on her own in case no one else was there! but as shes with 2 other close friends I'm thinking they'll be ok if it's quiet they'll play together.

Were now stuck on where to go, we wanted to stay close in case of emergencies but now we may end up at AK, How far do you go if your using the kids club?

Thanks x
