DLR newbie planning 1st trip - hotel question

Hi everyone! Planning our first trip to DLR and looking at local hotels. Wanting to find something relatively cheap with breakfast included.

Also was wondering which hotels offer their own shuttles to the park? We are willing to walk, but would like to see what hotels are out there with this option.

Thanks!

The Holiday Inn in Walnut St is walkable (about 15 mins) but looking very tired plus ordinary service when we were last there in November. I think they have a shuttle from memory, but we just walked both days.

The Holiday Inn and Suites' website (https://hianaheim.com) says that they use the ART shuttle, not a private shuttle. Very few hotels in the DLR area have a private shuttle. Two that come readily to mind are the CCI and the Majestic Garden (used to be the Sheraton Anaheim). And while the Holiday Inn and Suites has a restaurant on site, I don't think they offer free breakfast unless you book a special rate that includes that meal.
To the OP: there are hotels on Harbor that include free breakfast that are very close walking distance, e.g. BWPPI, Park Vue, etc. A private shuttle would not be an issue there because of the proximity to the parks.

This thread will give you lots of good information: https://www.disboards.com/threads/choosing-the-right-dlr-area-hotel-for-you.3656512/.

For a nearby hotel with breakfast included and a private shuttle (not many hotels have both), I like the Candy Cane Inn. They offer various discounts, so check to see if you qualify for something. The CCI receives consistently favorable reviews on this board.
Another CCI vote here.

OP, I agree with @theluckyrabbit here and think you want to either go with CCI or one of the hotels/motels on Harbor near the DLR entrance. This is the #2 option in the link given above https://www.disboards.com/threads/choosing-the-right-dlr-area-hotel-for-you.3656512/.

I often stay at BWPPI and ask for a room near the front. Literally a 5 minute walk to the DLR parks. I also stay at CCI - usually when BWPPI does not have availability. Tropicana is next door to the BWPPI and I have stayed there a couple times. The CCI breakfast is really good. The BWPPI offer a hot buffet breakfast. I do not remember having the Tropicana breakfast.

I find this map very useful: http://wikimapia.org/#lat=33.8092124&lon=-117.9188132&z=19&l=0&m=b

If you book through getawaytoday.com you can get free breakfast and shuttle at Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove which is one of my favorite hotels in the area. Embassy Suites Anaheim South has free breakfast and a shuttle which is $6 per day. Also Double tree Anaheim orange has a free shuttle but there is a cost if you include breakfast in your stay.
