Talk to me about departing from San Diego! We're gold cruisers, but this is a new port for us. We're local, so we're just taking the train in the morning of the cruise.

Are there any particular quirks for San Diego that we should know about?

Did this last year, we ate as a group for late breakfast and were on the road by 9:41 according to sad pictures. So if you take your time, assume out and on the road by then.

Only quirks, it’s a small but efficient port. Trains station is near. By a cab would make it easy. There are an abundance of them. Uber and lyft too.

It is an easy walk to the port from the train station. Security and check in was quick and easy. Plenty of sitting while waiting to board the ship. You do have to walk up stairs to get to the gangway, they do have an elevator but that line can get long. They do have restrooms and vending machines in the waiting area if needed.

The walk from the train station to the port is easy. Only about 2 - 3 blocks. Check In was fast and efficient. I think it took 15/20 minutes from the time we walked up to the port until we were on the ship. Would have been faster if we hadn't stopped for the pictures. They had a separate line for new cruisers and one for returning. There was two people ahead of us in the returning cruiser line.

We're taking a cruise out of here in April and will be our 1st time at this port as well. Already getting excited as we typically cruise the East coast.
