Fairfield Resort on Disney Property at WDW?

I don't know if this is old news here or not. There's a persistent rumor among timeshare circles that Fairfield Communities/Cendant Corporation is planning to build a resort on Disney property near Epcot. Fairfield is a points-based timeshare program developer and resort manager. Don't know if this is supposed to be closer to the Caribbean Beach Resort or closer to the golf courses by Bonnet Creek. Apparently, this new golf resort may include a golf course, at least one hotel and perhaps timeshare villas. Have any of you locals heard or read any more about this development? TIA for any info.

The rumor I heard was a Disney timeshare to be built on Celebration property. The Orlando Sentinel covered the story recently about the residents up in arms over the expansion of the hotel and addition of the timeshare.

Could that be it?

It looks like there will be two new non-Disney timeshare resorts at WDW.

One is a Four Seasons resort planned for the southern part of the WDW property. That's the "timeshare to be built on Celebration property" which "airlarry!" mentioned. As you might expect, Four Seasons builds very high quality, expensive timeshare resorts, such as Four Seasons Resort Club Aviara in Carlsbad, California.

The other timeshare resort is part of the Bonnet Creek development, just east of Disney's Caribbean Ceach Resort. This prime property is surrounded on three sides by Disney propery, but it's not owned by Disney. The link that Lisa P provided discusses this project. By the way, don't confuse the Bonnet Creek development with Disney's Bonnet Creek golf course. The development and the golf course are both named after the same creek, which runs through the WDW property, but the golf course is several miles north of the development.
