I know there is a thread already for favorite restaurants in Orlando but I am planning a Universal only trip and was wondering what everyone's favorites by some specific categories. Please list your favorites. Feel free to duplicate the restaurant if it falls under more than area. Example your favorite pizza is on your favorite buffet. Thanks so much. I can't wait to see what everyone posts. popcorn::

Here's a few for our fam:

Romance: lol, not when travelling with a teenager in tow :rotfl2:
Seafood: something our family hates
Chinese: never eaten at a Chinese place when in Orlando (I have no idea why)
Japanese: another that our family hates
Pizza: Cici's (but we are finally trying Giordanos on the next trip...its looks divine)
Buffet: Golden Corral
Locally Owned:
Dinner+Entertainment: Outta Control Dinner Show at Wonderworks
Breakfast: Golden Corral
BBQ:
Deli/Sandwiches:
Healthy Eating: not on our vacations :rotfl:
Affordable: Cici's Pizza, TGI Fridays, Chili's, Golden Corral, Outta Control
Mexican: not a big lover of spicy
Ethnic Cuisine: not very adventurous eaters either!
Italian : Olive Garden

I don't eat out a lot but here are my selections:

Pizza: Franco's
Buffet: Sweet Tomatoes
BBQ: Bubbalou's or Four Rivers
Deli/Sandwiches: Firehouse or Toojays

Romance: California Grill. It's Disney and it's closed.

Seafood: Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. About 45 minutes from Orlando but they have some of the best seafood around (Especially the rock shrimp)

Chinese: Ming Court on I-Drive has surpisingly good Chinese food.

Also, Tasty Wok on 50 in the Mills-50 District for some really authentic stuff.

Japanese: For steakhouses, Kobe is the big chain around here. Expensive, but very consistent. For non-steakhouse, try Bayridge Sushi.

Buffet: Hard one. Most of the buffets are touristy/Disney. Boma in Animal Kingdom Lodge wins for me.

Breakfast: Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant at Deleon Springs. About an hour from Orlando, this place is located in a state park. You cook your own pancakes on grills in the middle of your table, then go outside and swim in the spring or kayak up the river.

BBQ: 4Rivers Smokehouse. There's several of them in the Orlando area. Here's a blog post from the one in Longwood.

Mexican: Not quite Mexican, but I just tried this place and really liked it. It's Mexican-Asian fusion called Tako Cheena on Mills Ave in Orlando. Korean tacos and curry burritos are very tasty...

Ethnic Cuisine: Check out the Mills-50 District near Downtown. Lots of Vietnamese restaurants here to visit, along with some Chinese, Japanese, and Italian restaurants mixed in.
