Favorite things to do in Bermuda & Nassau?

We are docking overnight in Bermuda and aside from a glass bottom boat tour, we are thinking of exploring on our own.
What should we see and do?

We are also going to Nassau, which is not my favorite port. Is anything worth doing or should we stay on the ship?
We did Atlantis for the casino (adults) years ago. Thoughts?

Bermuda - do the Gossling's Rum tour if you can, get a dark-n-stormy, eat some seafood! We did an island tour and it was beautiful and amazing - loved it.

Nassau - stay on the boat.... 8-)

That island tour is a good overview of the entire country in a day. Great idea.

I did a food tour in Nassau and it was awesome. Walking tour with highlights of the city along with 6-7 stops to get food. Visited Graycliff estate and the chocolate factory. Went to a hot sauce place. Went to Queens staircase. The guide was very good at the providing the history of the places we visited. It is highly rated on TripAdvisor.

We took a ferry and bus and did the caves in Bermuda. Easy and cheap to do on your own. We also walked around the city the ferry docked in and shopped some. Nassau, we've done Blue Lagoon and Atlantis. Both were a little iffy. Blue Lagoon's animal care standards weren't to my my standards. Atlantis we just did the casino and it definitely wasn't as good as even the tribal casino's in my area (Seattle). We now stay onboard and enjoy that.

Highly recommend the food tour in Nassau. Tru Bahamian Food Tours: https://www.trubahamianfoodtours.com/
We always get off the ship at least for lunch, chat with a few people & contribute in some way to the local economy.

Bermuda is easy to tour on your own--ferries to Hamilton & St George run regularly from the dock, as are are taxis / shuttles to the southside beaches including Horseshoe Bay.

Bermuda is stunning! What do you enjoy? There are historical sites and breathtaking beaches.

Our favorites are Horseshoe Bay (shuttles just off the ship or public bus), St. Georges historical sites, and Crystal Caves/Blue Hole,/Swizzle Inn/ice cream parlor, all in walking distance from each other at the same bus stop.

We are traveling with some seniors in June and found a private driver to take us around. It is a relatively small island and easy to see in a day this way.

We have only been to Nassau once. In walking distance from the port , the Queen's Staircase is worth seeing.

Did you book that on your own or with Disney?

Good to know. I have been looking at Blue Lagoon

Bermuda - I enjoyed a visit to St George (as far from the ship you can get on the island). It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site - think history. Built in the early 1600s, it’s still a functioning village. But you would see the entire length of the island to get there and back.

I wouldn’t visit Bermuda and not go to Horseshoe Bay (or other beach) to see the pink sand. It’s a mild pink, but it is pretty (along with the rocks).

Try some local food or drink - Bermuda Fish Chowder (yum and I don’t usually like fish soups), fish sandwich on raisin bread, Rum Swizzle or Dark N Stormy.

Nassau - a quick walk around if you have never been. Just to have been there. Queen’s Staircase and the main shopping street provide an example of British Colonial infrastructure. I haven’t been off the ship in years, but have noticed the modernizing of the port area.
I didn't know DCL was offering a cruise that goes to Bermuda. I've been looking to book Bermuda on NCL for June 2024 since they are there for 2.5 days. I always see Horseshoe Beach recommended. All the videos I see of it show it being jammed pack. Do you know of any beaches that aren't so crowded. All we'd need is one that has chair rentals and restrooms. Ever been to Tobacco Bay beach? I also see there's a street festival in Hamilton once a week. Have you been to it?
Thanks

Was this very long ago...? We looked into a Gossling's tour but it seems like it had already been discontinued way prior to covid even unless I am looking in the wrong spot.

We are sailing to Bermuda in Oct/Nov on the Dream. I can’t offer advice on excursions for that.

We did Nassau and there was a Pearl Island trip. They provide lunch (which was phenomenal) and private beach area. You can add snorkeling as well - but we did not. They pick you up on boats just off of the ship and on the way back - provide you with an informal harbor tour. We got to see a lot of celebrity homes. We enjoyed the day. Would do it again.

Nassau I love Blue Lagoon. There is so much to do there or you can always just lay on the beach. I like that its a private beach. We've done dolphin encounters there and one of my most recent trips I swam with the sharks!

We just love Bermuda- we have been both by air and sea (NCL). Love the Rum Swizzle Inn. St. George is such a beautiful spot to roam and find a cup of Bermudian fish chowder. Out that way is Tobacco bay- a beautiful beach. It is smaller, not sure how crowded it would be when you are there. Horseshoe Bay is also a really lovely beach stop. A large each area that holds a crowd well. We took all public transportation while we were on the island.

We have done Blue Lagoon in Nassau. Nice there. We were going to go last trip, but we sailed in September and it was really hot. We skipped it and stayed on board.

Can you rent chairs at Tobacco Bay beach? I'm thinking about booking a cruise on NCL. We usually book excursions through the cruiseline, but I feel like there's no need to in Bermuda.
