Tonight I had my first car accident. :guilty:

I was coming home from a concert and dropping my friend off at home when a deer came completely out of nowhere and hit the side of my car. We live on the mountain so it's not a rare thing but it's still shocking for the first time, especially without my mommy lol!

I nearly had a heart attack. I pulled over immediately, called my mom, checked for damage, and the tears started pouring. Everything was fine, I was fine, my friend was fine, the only damage sustained was a wonky headlight. I was able to drive home, but my nerves were SHOT!

So just, be careful out there guys, okay? You never think it'll happen to you until it does. I am so incredibly blessed. :goodvibes

wow thats scary. im glad you are ok.

You're really lucky. One of my friends hit a deer when she was in high school. Her car was totaled and the only reason the deer didn't kill her was because her windows were up. When the deer rolled onto her roof, her windows all broke outwards, taking most of the pressure, keeping the roof from crushing down on top of her. Deer are scary.

And that story is enough for me to always keep my windows up and use the air conditioner instead.

That's scary... I know how you feel. I almost hit a deer when I was going to school. Luckily it only pushed in my mirror and didn't do any damage, but it is scary. I was shaken for the rest of the day after I arrived at school.

thats really scary, but im glad youre okay. :]
i know i wouldve had a panic attack if a deer hit my car.
i spazz when i see a frog hopping across the road that i might hit; i dont want to think about a deer x<

Deer are terrifying. My dad swerved to miss a deer one night and rolled his truck. Luckily he didn't get hurt, but it could have been really bad.

I'm glad you're ok Sonya

I almost hit a deer about 2 or 3 weeks ago. We both stopped and looked at each other.
I'm glad you're okay.

Scary stuff, good you're okay though. I had my first accident a month after I got my license, rear ended an enormous Buick while I was changing a CD and totaled my first car. Been accident free since though.

I know exactly how you feel. When I got in my first fender bender, no one was hurt, but my nerves were shot for the rest of the day and I cried for about an hour after that.

First accident is always the hardest...

I know I am so blessed. I definitely have an angel or two looking over me, but I think I need to add a St. Christopher to my car. I'm not overtly Roman Catholic, but I definitely believe in those saints! Prayed to St. Peregrine and beat cancer, so hey, might as well try, eh? :-)

I'm still shaken and I won't be driving after sun down for a while!

I have St. Christopher in my car. :)
Saints are great. I'm not too much of a Catholic person myself.
But yeah, they're good to talk to. I pray to St. Anthony ALL the time. I lose everything.

That's so scary but you are lucky you are OK!

I almost hit a deer once. I live near a ton of wooded areas and I was driving home one night and this deer jumped out in front of me. I SLAMMED on my breaks and barely missed it.

My boyfriend just had his first car accident yesterday driving to my house. It was raining and he wasn't used to a curb on the highway. He slid into one of the guard rails and then over corrected and went into the other. Both his headlights were broken and he had some other damage but he was fine just really upset about it.

Luckily I've only had fender benders, one that was bigger that broke a light near my license plate but nothing too major.

So glad to hear you're okay!
Deer are scary things on the road, I recently had to stop for a family.

I know exactly what you mean about the shock, etc. though.

Saturday night I very nearly killed my best friend, I just had a total blank out, and nearly turned into oncoming traffic.
I haven't been quite right since, knowing that something so stupid I did, could have ruined her running career or killed her.
She doesn't hold it against me, but I can't help but hold it against myself.

Same here! I was a little pissed at him a few weeks ago because he wouldn't help me find my iPod. I guess it just wasn't meant to be cause it's still missing. :(

Thanks everyone for your support!

Oh ouch! I lost my ipod too. Turns out it was in the backseat of my mom's car.

Yikes that scary! I'm glad you are alright!
Was the deer killed?

Glad to hear you and your friend are alright. Deer on the road always freak me out even when my parents are the ones driving the car!

I'm not sure if the deer was killed, because I honestly wasn't worried about the deer at that second. Selfish, I know, but if I wasn't killed then I would've been killed when I got home. My primary job was to check for damage because my parents said "The first time you get in an accident with our cars is the last time you will ever drive while living under this roof". L:uckily they changed their tune when I got home because a deer coming out "can happen to anyone". No damage but I think the deer ran off cause I couldn't see it anywhere.
