?? for Anyone who has spent July 4th at Vero?

We are thinking of spending the week of 7/4 next year at Vero. Are there any extra activitites during the week or just the typical? Is there somewhere close by to go see fireworks?

We stayed there last week and checked out on the 4th. THey had a flag hunt through the resort but it seemed like everything else was pretty normal activities. Not sure about local fireworks though.

There is not a lot of special stuff on the fourth. They always have a DJ at the pool on weekends and they also had one both years on the 4th. Shutters had a special all american dessert this year but had a special all american meal the year before. They had a watermelon eating and seed spitting contest at the pool. Some miscellaneous activities around the pool. We said on our balcony and saw fireworks in two different areas. They were pretty good but not "Disney" fireworks. We like it. Hilton Head on the other hand has Disney fireworks every Tuesday so they might have their own 4th fireworks.

We visited Vero on the 4th two summer ago. There were excellent fireworks not too far away at a park. It was around 15 mins. from the resort and everyone just parked their car and sat around right by the car. The view was terrific. It did take quite some time for us to exit though, so don't be in too much of a hurry.
