We just had our home study yesterday and are now waiting to become approved. We are excited about the new journey we will start soon. Wish us luck.

We're awaiting a home visit at our new home (we were licensed, and then moved from our apartment into a house, so we just need a revision to our homestudy).

One thing I wanted to mention (and one poster's comment about being a "chapter in the lifebook" of a child was what made me think of this) is DON'T FORGET THE LIFEBOOK!! If your foster child came with one, keep it updated with pictures and mementos of special times. If they don't have one, start one! Even if it's just a 3-ring binder with pages of pictures and such. It's something they can take with them if/when they move on, and it'll help them remember that "chapter" in their life. It's sad to think of the "chunks" of time that are missing from some of these kids' lives, because they have nothing to remember them by.
