FP slinky

I think it might be a little bit easier but still tougher for shorter trips. As always if you don't get it keep watching and FPs are always changing.

I don't think SDD will be getting easier any time soon. The issue is with the relatively low capacity, and high demand.

With the way the tiers have been organized, there were some people using their tier 1 on RnR or ToT, especially when ToT was only running one side due to refurb/maintenance. It spread out demand a bit more when basically everything was tier 1. Now that there will be only 2 tier 1 rides, it will push more people towards those. Assuming MMRR will be Tier 1, if not immediately at opening then sometime after, that might have a mild effect on SDD, with some family groups choosing that route.

The only thing that will really make SDD an easier FP to score is if Disney makes RotR FP available.

Yes it seems easier based on what I was reading! I just booked FP Today for my April trip (week before easter, so busy time). Booked Slinky Dog for 60+2 and got a time of 3:25. I had actually started booking SD at 60+3 (and could have gotten late morning), but switched to 60+2 bc Smugglers Run timing was better that way. 60+2 and 60+3 are my 2 HS Days.

This aligns with what the Dibb FP Availability tracker is showing (at least for the moment). It’s gotten easier to get at 60+2/3. MFSR is a more balanced ride to pair it with (at least for now). A lot more people are taking it than were talking the previous Tier 1s.

with smugglers run becoming a FP attraction do you think slinky dog will be more available at 60+2
I've been watching and it is showing some availability at 60+2.

Currently, tomorrow at 60 days would be April 5. 60+2 is April 7th.

The Dibb shows availability for 4 people on 4/7.

Touring plans shows the following times for April 7th:

I did not find it any easier, just because there are now only two tier ones, depending on what happens with M&M runaway things could get better.

two weeks ago there was almost next to nothing until 60+4. Not sure how it isn't any easier.
Time will tell if the changes are the result of the new tier configuration or just the ebb and flow of crowd levels.

We’ve always seen some people able to grab things early in their stay and others unable until much later just based on the days they’re booking.

When I heard about the change, my gut was telling me SDD wouldn’t get easier with everything else getting dumped into tier 2, but so far the data looks promising. I’m cautiously optimistic that Disney might finally have found something to balance it out.

First, thanks for this. I had not idea this feature existed. We are only down for a short jaunt tied to another event, so this will help for sure.

Until MMRR and RoTR become tier 1 FP, I don't expect SDD to get any easier.
For the near future with MFSR and SDD the only tier 1, I expect it to be worse to much worse.
Of the 2, I would pick SDD.

Why does SDD tend to have later in the day FP+ availability? I heard it is really cool at night so I'm wondering why most people chose earlier slots.

Because after you use your first 3 FP, you can try to book more same-day FPs. Obviously, the options are more limited than if you're booking 60 days out, but you can still score good things. If you have a FP later in the day, you have to do all standby after using your first two FP.

Also, some people park hop. Having FP tied up in the evening prevents them from getting FP for the morning park.

But, yes, SDD is fantastic at night! If you can snag a same-day FP for the evening, that's gold! One favorite ride strategy is to jump into the standby line juuuuusssttt before the park closes. The wait goes much faster because after closing no one will be cutting the line with FP.

see my post above. It is easier. I've been watching every day. There are several mid-day FP+ windows at the 60+2 mark now which weren't there just 2 weeks ago.

Ride it standby close to closing time. The inflate the wait time close to closing time so take a look at the queue. When we were there in December, it said 50 minutes around 8:30 (close at 9:00). Looking at the queue, I knew that wasn't right. We got on in 25 minutes.

If you are there all day, you don't want an evening fastpass because it will block you from getting additional fastpasses during the day.
