Getting to Hoop Dee Doo in the rain

Will the MK boats run to fort wilderness in rain / lightning? If not how do we get to the hoop Dee doo from the MK?

They'll run in rain, but not if lightning is too close (within a radius defined by Disney - the boat captains will get a message to stop sailing). When the boats are shut down, there should be a bus from MK to Ft. Wilderness (that route might run all the time, I'm not sure), then you catch an internal bus to The Settlement where Pioneer Hall is. There is also a bus from MK to Wilderness Lodge, where you can catch the shuttle bus that runs from WL directly to The Settlement. Or you can get a Minnie Van, which picks up at the MK bus station and takes you directly to The Settlement.

Can the shuttle bus accommodate an ECV like the regular buses or is it a smaller shuttle like the one between Jambo and Kidani?

The bus they use from MK to the Fort is a regular, full size Disney bus.

Good to know, thanks for the clarification. We rode a launch to the Fort in July for HDD, and as we approached the dock we could see threatening clouds approaching and then heard thunder. The captain said he expected to get the call to shut down any minute.

We were just at HDD and after the show, there was a lot of thunder/lightning. The little boats shut down, but the big ones kept running.

There is always a bus from MK to the Settlement. After 11am it is a shared bus with Wilderness Lodge

We had quite ‘the light show’ over bay lake from lightening going sideways during boat ride back to the poly early august this year.
