Getting used to the time differences

If I ever get to DL, I will have to take a plane flight up to 8 hours. I know that the time difference from New York is 4 hours. How would an east coaster get used to this type of thing. I have traveled as far as the central time zone, but this might mess up my sleeping patterns for a few days!

Going West you gain time, so you'll probably be fine...it's when you head home that you'll be "all messed up". ;)

Good Luck. :)

Quentin, the time difference is only three hours, so it's not so bad. :) I fly to Orlando a few times a year and have to adjust to being three hours later...after a day or so you adjust and it's not too bad. And if you can get a non-stop flight from NY it's only about 5 1/2 hours or so max, even LESS if you're flying from Orlando (it's 4 hours and 45 minutes non-stop). Have fun! :)

it is so much easier going back than it is going forward!!!
I am from Texas(which is 2 hours ahead DL and 1 hour behind WDW)going back to hours was so much easier. At the time i was usually asleep at home I felt fine. But losing an hour kinda kills me and i am not sure why.
So dont worry about it....it should be just fine! :)

We were worried about the same thing when we went to DL last year. We took a 8am flight out of JFK and arrived at LAX at 9am local time which worked out well. We took a late afternoon nap (5pm local time) and stayed up until midnight local time. We were on local time the next morning when we woke up! This seemed to work for us and the group we were with.
