Gwen Stefani sighting at DL

Folks, four years ago today I spotted Gwen Stefani on Tom Sawyer Island. I walked right by her and didn’t notice at first - she wore sunglasses and a hat. Moments later, I heard a guy tell his girlfriend to go ask her for an autograph. That’s when I realized. A short time later, she took off her “disguise” and I snapped this pic. This is the only celebrity sighting I’ve ever had at DL.

I don't have a photo, but I spotted Ken Jeong and family by the Alice and Wonderland bathrooms back in 2012 ( I think that was the year, because we went yearly during 2010-2015 so it is a little hard to remember). They were taking a private tour, with a tour guide.
Another time, in the bathroom near the Village Haus (now Red Rose Tavern) two cast members were discussing that Adam Sandler was just there and had a hamburger. But I never saw him.
Strangely, it seems that my husband always runs into someone he knows at the park...

We saw Travis Barker and his son getting on Splash Mountain in August.

Just a reminder that it is against park rules to ask celebrities for autographs while, unless it is part of an official event. I know the OP didn't ask for one, but overheard someone saying to their girlfriend to ask for one and figured it was a good time for a reminder for everyone. Oh, and I have seen them remove guests from the park without a refund just for asking.

Now if they come up to you and offer, that is a different story all together, although they are not supposed to be doing that, but then it is on them, not you.

When I was a kid (circa 1988 or 1989) we ran into Joe DiMaggio and his family in the park as we exited Country Bear Jamboree. I thought my grandpa was gonna have a heart attack, lol. And I am similar to your husband where I always run into someone I know in the parks. Even during a trip to WDW in 2017 I ran into an old friend. My wife has just given up with me :-)

What? Is it just asking for an autograph that isn't allowed? What about a photo/selfie. People get those ALL the time. I haven't seen anything in Disneylands official rules about asking celebrities for anything.

I saw John Stamos and his baby a few weeks ago in Fantasyland. No one seemed to realize who he was. I totally took a bunch of stealth pictures. I also saw him a couple years ago with a larger entourage that included that kid from the Grandfathered show he was on, but I wasn't quick enough with the camera.

I see Kobe Bryant and his wife and kid ALL the time. He is practically there every weekend, usually Saturdays.

We saw the entire Golden State Warriors cheer squad. They were in line in front of us at RSR.

I saw those two female comedy singers, Garfunkel and Oates. They were coming into the exit of RSR and walked by me.

I saw Charlize Theron in Downtown Disney a couple years ago one January Saturday night.

We saw Drew Carey in DCA once.

We saw Dianne Keaton many years ago outside Star Traders waiting for her grandkids.

It is indeed against the rules to ask for autographs from celebrities and you can indeed be removed from the parks for doing so and the official rule they use is that you are doing something that impacts park operations or other guests, so I guess technically asking for the autograph isn't the rule exactly, but you are impacting the celebrity's enjoyment of the park and they are guest as well, so you automatically are violating that rule to begin with. Same goes for asking them for a selfie.

Taking pictures from afar isn't usually an issue, as long as it isn't impacting other guests, including the celebrity, depending on your phone you might even be able to get yourself in the picture. Again, if they offer it is different as well.

In December, PINK was next when I pulled into the gates for RSR! She got into my seat after I left it! LOL. Saw her around the park multiple times that day.

Also, this past summer, we ran into Jack Black there!

IMO that’s far more on the celebrity who says ok.

Or a guest who won’t stop. But a guest asking and getting or not getting and simply going away? Nah. That impedes nothing. I’d name and shame a celeb who caused a normal simple request to result in a guest being kicked out.

c. Would cover a celeb causing a ruckus.

g. Barely covers a guest making a scene. Doesn’t cover a guest simply talking to another guest, which is what a request like that is.

We met Sean Astin before the 2014 Disneyland half weekend events. Super sweet and MORE than happy to chat. Less happy that we didn’t know the stuff he was currently in, but when you’re doing shows on premium cable channels you can’t expect everyone to have seen your work.

Saw, from afar, Kevin Federline not long after his divorce from Britney. The telltale TWO plaids always gives people away...

We've only knowingly seen two celebs: Jeanne Triplehorn several years ago (The Firm, Waterworld (ugh), more recently Big Love, Criminal Minds) in Fantasayland (my husband in passing said, "loved you in Waterworld" and she smiled and kind of chuckled (like she was a bit embarassed that was the movie he knew her from) and we saw Celine Dion and her boys (and bodyguards, a sister (from the looks of her) and two or three CM's (the ones dressed in plaid) getting off of Storybookland Canal Boats in October 2016. I think it is tradition for them to go near her twins birthdays. We didn't speak to her, and in the quick moment she was there didn't see anyone else approach either. People can acknowledge a celebrity without making an obnoxious jerk of themselves...we always kind of keep our eyes peeled for groups of "plaids" in the event someone is with them. We've seen people we know from home twice also...but that is not near as exciting.

I saw Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner at the BBQ restaurant that is now part of GE. I believe they were having a birthday party there. Last year we saw Vanessa & Nick Lachey with their kids near Wine Country Trattoria.
I’ve seen multiple people I know from Nor-Cal including running into an ex-boyfriend and his kids inside the single rider line elevator for CA Screaming. That one was pretty funny! We seem to run into people we know all over the place tho.

Never saw 2 plaids with any of the celebrities I saw.

I believe depending on how much one wishes to pay for VIP plaid escorts you could have any number. I do know Celine Dion's family had two for certain (there might have even been a third).

We saw them in 2016 walking into Minnie’s House (from the exit). I talked to him briefly and he was super nice. They were escorted by the plaid vests.

We saw them there once too, seemed to be a bday party when we saw them as well. Have seen one of the sisters 3 different times.

We passed Michael Buble one time. My 20 year old daughter squeaked out a "hi" to him and he made her day by replying "hello Princess." (she had a tierra on.)

I messed up a photo for Slash. He was on the left side of the bridge that is on the left side of the castle, using the castle as a back drop for photos. His group took a few photos while their plaid stopped traffic. The plaid then directed us to go thru but someone in his group tried to snap another photo right when I got in their way. (using flash in the dusk). I stopped short, on my skooter, so a bit awkward, and apologized. Slash said "It's all good." I was pretty star struck. --I wouldn't have even knew he was there if my daughter hadn't pointed him out while we were stopped.

I've never seen a celeb, but I do seem to run into people I know fairly regularly. Given that I live in Phoenix (and so do they), it's pretty extraordinary.

That seems exceedingly harsh to me. Until now, I didn’t even know that there was a rule against asking. While I always respect people’s space — celebrities or otherwise — I can see how just about anyone would ask for an autograph/photo, which is reasonable and, indeed, an innocent request. If a guest is disrespectful or difficult, then by all means warn them.

If I see a guest that appears to be confused as he/she reads a map, I’ll often approach and offer to help. About half accept my help, two-thirds of the remainder don’t but thank me and the last fraction can be jerks and dismiss me rudely. If they reported me to Disney for violating their space/making them uncomfortable, would I likewise be kicked out of the park?
