Halloween Horror Nights tell me about park closings

Headed to the parks Oct 8-11 which has Halloween Horror Nights each night. What does that mean for someone not going to it? I'm assuming at least one park closes early? Do you just know to leave the park at a certain time? What time does the park close for non-Halloween Horror Night guests?

Halloween Horror Nights has taken place in the Universal Studios park for as long as I can remember.
It used both parks sometime during the mid 2000s.
This means that Universal Studios will close at 5pm for guests not attending the event. Everyone will be cleared out of the park, some escorted out politely as well (time is of the essence).
Islands of Adventure, should be open and will close at a later time. You can hop over to it or head to CityWalk for a great meal or drinks...

I believe IOA last year was open till 8 or 9 pm.

I'm curious about the process and crowds too for non-HHN people. We'll be there the exact same time and won't be going to HHN because kids are too young at 7, 9, 10. I checked the park hours and US closes at 5 p.m. and IOA is open until 7:00.

if you are in a line for a ride, you can continue to stay in that line at 5:00.
you will be allowed to finish that ride.

when you get off, TM's and security will escort you to the front of the park exit gatess.

i usually get in a ride line about 4:57.
line is shut off at 5:00

once i get off the ride, i show my hhn ticket and am escorted/walked to the nearest stay and scream area.
for those with a hhn tix, you are allowed to stay in the park.

yes, last fall studios closed at 5 and ioa closed at 7 with the exception of saturday night having a 8:00 closing.

if you are not in a ride line, TM's and security will escort those without a hhn ticket, to the exit of the parks.
