Has anyone done the DL Paris shore excursion from La Havre?

We were going to go before the TA cruise this September, but I’ve had a few mobility/physical set backs. So, maybe we’ll take the shore excursion to at lease see it! Is there a place to rent ECV on site?

We have been to Paris, Mont St Michele, and the Normandy Beaches extensively. If DL Paris proves to be too much for too little, is there something else I should look into?

Has anyone gone on the excursion to DL Paris or can you recommend another excursion?

We went to DLP last month and I did not see a single ECV or wheelchair. Europe in general is not ADA friendly.

Have you looked at Rouen or Giverny on Viator? We use them for most of our DCL shore excursions.

My pharmacist actually is the DLP's official provider for ECVs and works with Make a Wish to accomodate for medical facilities in Disney's hotels. While I would agree that not many people on France would use an ECV (because of costs, mostly), it doesn't mean that Disney doesn't want to do their “best”.

Of course we're talking about Disney and since we're not in a movie “wishes” don't always transform into reality. I would bother more about transfers as I don't believe we have many coaches that can handle ECVs or other mobile disabilities (unfortunately).

You have back issues and discussing 7 hours of bus riding to get to a theme park where you would require an ECV to get around.
This sounds like a terrible idea and could ruin the rest of your cruise.

I have no answer to your question, and Disneyland Paris may be the most beautiful of all fo the Disney parks (and Disney Studios Paris, the worst) but it's not going anywhere. If your back can't handle a leisurely pre-cruise visit, one that requires a 3.5 hour bus ride each way does not seem like a great idea. It is of course your call, but 7 hours of bus riding to take a photo in front of the castle, does not seem the best way to spend your port day.
However, I hope you have a fantastic cruise whatever you end up doing. If your lotto numbers hit, I may suggest the $7500 VIP tour Disney is offering.

We're on this cruise also. Doing the Paris Sightseeing adult only tour. Good luck with DLP.

It’d be a solid 3 hours each way. Maybe contact DL Paris to see about ECV? DL Paris is lovely, but that’s a long ride.

My daughter wants to do this and I am willing to do it with her. The round trip 7 hours doesn’t really bother me - I will sleep, read, and/or watch movies. But if anyone has any experience with this, would love to hear about it.

I’ll throw this out there:

If you are starting your cruise in England, either Southampton and Dover - and can afford the time and money, consider a pre- or post cruise to DLP.

I took Eurostar from London Kings Cross Station in the morning, arriving at DLP station. So easy. So nice. You go under the English Channel. (They darken the windows so you aren’t aware when it’s about to happen. One trip, we returned to London. The other time, I boarded a plane for Barcelona from Charles de Gaulle airport (12 minute train ride). You could fly into or home from this airport.

Eurostar London - DLP is 2 hr 49 minutes.

Just something to consider - and get a little more time in DLP.
The Eurostar will stop its route London - Disneyland Paris next June.

I appreciate the feedback!

We were going to do a London/Paris trip summer of 2020 with a few nights at DLP at the end of the trip. We all know how that ended up. Won’t have time to fit it in post-cruise, so it’s the port adventure or nothing at all. I just was wondering about things like park reservations (I would assume the ticket is date specific, but I don’t know), Premier Access - things like that.

If this is your chance and you are okay with the travel time, why not go for it?

I would imagine the ticket is date specific, too. If not, you would have to have the ability to make a Park Reservation once you got the ticket (probably on the ship). That would a pretty bad move on the part of the Shore Excursion desk.

Premier Access could be bought once you get to the park if you don’t have a smart phone with the DLP app. 😂 (at City Hall). With no reserved time slots for the Ultimate version, you are not being penalized if you don’t have internet access early In the morning.

Despite my love of the Eurostar, taking the DCL transportation / excursion is definitely the way to go.

(Story: My sister took the train (not a ship excursion) into Paris. The train workers went on strike after she arrived in Paris - before she needed to return to the ship. ALL trains. She had to catch an overnight bus to Southampton. Got escorted by Security onto the ship the following morning to gather bags (it was disembarkation day). Not something we deal with here very often. This strike had no warning - a passenger hit a worker and shut down an entire National transportation system.)

I planned my travel to Barcelona (WBTA) so I could spend a few days in England and visit DLP Paris on the way. Also arranged my flights so I could fly Singapore Airlines. I don’t regret it - it was an adventure. I imagine you will feel the same way about this Port Adventure.

amusez-vous!
Merci! I wouldn’t even DREAM of doing this if I couldn’t book it directly with Disney - and the guarantee you’ll be back to the ship in time or transported at their expense.

Thank you again. I really appreciate your help. 😊

I don't have any advice on going as a port adventure as we're going pre-cruise. But just wanted to throw this out in case it helps. Do you have a handicap parking placard? If so, you can qualify for an priority pass which works similar to premier access. There are 8 different documents they'll accept for proof:
