Heading to the world on New Years. Any suggestions for touring? And dining?

hm. If you haven't made dining reservations for NYE in one of the parks, you need to do that now. You will probably have to search for a cancellation or eat early.

We will probably go to Epcot later in the day this year. It is too much to go early and stay all day, and I'm pretty sure that last year all the parks were open later in the day for some amount of time (they will close when capacity is reached).

NYE in the parks is chaotic but can be enjoyable if you realize that you are not going to get much accomplished (ride waits were crazy in Epcot last year, even Spaceship Earth was like 3 hours!) Go, walk around, have dinner, watch the fireworks.

That's good, you won't be disappointed... lots to see around NY!! We were prepared for crowds, but it was still amazing to experience that many people in one place. MK and Epcot can reach capacity at various times around NYE, and the gates close for a time. We chose to get in at Rope Drop and stay until close, both days.

We did have TS reservations for lunch and dinner, just for some good downtime and recharge-time! If you still can get ressies in the park, do it now! Most ride wait times were outrageously long, so we mainly enjoyed the shops and street shows, and explored the lands and countries more than usual.

We did MK on 12/30 and Ep on 12/31. MK has Wishes at normal time, then the fabulous, not-to-be-missed Fantasy in the Sky fireworks show with a midnight countdown (both those nights). It was beyond beautiful!! The nearer you are to the hub for this show, the better!

The enhanced Illuminations on 12/31 was great too! We viewed from Italy, and got an extra bonus -- we could also see the MK fireworks in the background!
