Help Pick the Best Vacation Club Resort

We are a party of 6 adults. It's me, wife, 2 daughters (ages 24 and 22) and their 2 boyfriends. We're only staying one night before going on a Disney cruise. We will be renting points. Most likely looking at a 2 bedroom. My initial thought is Boardwalk.

As already asked, going to a park and if yes which one(s). If not why Boardwalk? If you're looking for non park things to do you planning on Disney Springs? If there I'd recommend SSR or my favorite for all adults is OKW, can't beat the size of the rooms.

We did a 2 BR at SSR for 2 non park nights before a cruise last year. It was perfect. Nice pool, fantastic food across the lake, and peaceful before the hustle and bustle of a cruise.

For one night and no parks, SSR is a great choice for young adults. Plus, depending on what you are going...please do not post specific dates as those would not be allowed..SSR could be easier to get,

Every two bedroom villa at BWV is a lock off. So the second bedroom will have one queen bed, one double sleeper sofa and one bunk sized murphy bed. The second bedroom will also have the kitchenette.

Do you know BW is only lock-off 2 BR units? The 2nd BR will have a queen and a sleeper sofa. For 2 real beds in the 2nd, pick any other DVC, except AK-J, and ask for a dedicated 2 BR (AK-Jambo is also only lock-offs) With AK-K or BLT the 2 BR will have 3 full bathrooms. With 6 adults you may need that extra bath. Have a great trip,.

I know you suggested a two bedroom, but for one night 3 studios might be a better idea. Each couple would have their own room, and their own bathroom for the morning. If it was me, I probably wouldn’t be doing much cooking either if I was only there for one night, and I wouldn’t need the washer and dryer either. Depending on where you stay, it might not cost any more.
You wouldn’t have much room to socialise, so it depends if that’s important.

As others have said, the layout isn't better than other two bedroom units. I own at boardwalk, but I own there because of location plus low point chart. The bedroom layout isn't all that great. For boardwalk, you will have to pay a premium to book early enough to get a room. If location doesn't matter, 100% OKW. The rooms are bigger and if you manage to get a dedicated 2-bedroom unit you have two real queen beds. The cost per point to book OKW will also be lower if you're booking between 11 and 7 months and you stand a better chance of getting a room during a busier season than you do at boardwalk.

If your just there to sleep for a night before a cruise, why even stay on property? Why not just rent some air bnb, or a much cheaper hotel in some other part of town?

Oct is Food and Wine and the standard view studios at BWV are all booked up (I have been trying to book mine with my points). And that means there are also no standard view 2BRs as all the 2BRs are a lock-off combo of a 1BR and a studio. So you can get an owner to book you a P/G view for a few more points. But you'd have to do that before, about, 7 months out or it too will book up. The sooner the better. Might even be all booked at 9 months out for your date.

No parks though...I'd do AKV or SSR. AKV gives you a lovely resort with great dining and animal viewing and nice pools if you would want to have some pool time. SSR, and I'd do preferred view and request Congress Park, gets you a walk over to DS where you can shop, dine and drink )even see a movie or bowl). If you do standard view, I'd request Grandstand and 'close to pool' so you can just walk over to the carriage house (main building) to catch the boat over to DS. We recently did that and it was great!

Also, AKV at Kidani gives you 3 bathrooms in a 2BR as well as a sleeper chair in the living room (in addition to the sleeper sofa).

DVC 2 bedrooms are either dedicated, meaning it's one 2 bedroom villa with one door. Or there are lock-off, meaning it's a studio and a 1BR that can combine to make a 2BR...and has 2 doors to enter and a door connecting then that can lock-off if it is booked as separate studio and a 1BR to different people. Some resorts have both options and some just have lock-offs (like BWV). Not sure if any have all dedicated.
