HHI fishing??

We are planning a trip to HHI next summer. I was interested in the fishing nearby and at the resort. I see there is a fishing pier. Is there any rod and reel rentals there and also do you need a fishing license? Also, are there any fishing excursions available either at the resort or nearby? Thanks

You can fish from the pier. Also, there is a party boat that leaves from the marina right by the resort.

There's even a sink on the pier to wash up.

There are fishing charters available thru the resort and also several right across the harbor from the resort.

Most of the fishing from the resort pier is for crabs and bait/gear is available thru the recreation staff. With the charters listed above all tackle, bait and license is provided by the charter boat.

I go almost every year for my Birthday in September and this is what i look forward to the most. They do rent poles / bait at the pier shop - if I remember correctly about $5 per day each or something really inexpensive. I did have a lot of issues with the rod tangling so I have since just brought my own reel. they also rent crabbing gear and bait.

I have never gone for the more elaborate fishing trips - but may look into that this year. I did have great luck at the pier about 2 years ago. caught about 4-5 fish in half a day and about 20+ crab.
