I once said a mild curse word in a bar where you had to be 21 and over after a certain time but could stay there if you were already there and parents next to me glared at my like nobody's business. I'm like in my head "you have a kid in a bar where now it's the time that everyone is carded..."
Some people, despite seeing that the atmosphere is more adult, make a ruckus when people exhibit behaviors that are more adult-like so I get what you're saying and I get what the other poster is saying.
To go along with the watch your mouth, or behavior, or not debate, the thing is all people have different opinions and feelings on the matter. Which is all the more reason why some people may feel as if younger children should not be involved at all. It's probably one of many reasons why bars prohibit children under the age of 21 other than the obvious reason of the fact they cannot drink, because at the end of the day, people have different opinions, people raise their children differently, and people cannot control what others do.
Some people feel as if regardless they should watch their mouth, or behavior when children are around, some people do not care as they feel as if they are within their right to say, or act as they want regardless of where they are, and some may simply feel uncomfortable about a child being in certain environments for a variety of reasons.
Again, people raise their children in many different forms and expose their children to certain things at a variety of ages. Everyone will always have a different opinion. However, the fact of the matter is HHN other than the "scary stuff" also is corpus amounts of alcohol + go go dancers and those things remind me of a night club, which those are created for adults,, and as we know clubs don't have younger children.
Anyone can try to avoid some of those things, as @istillbelieve is an example that it doesn't always get crazy, or "adult", but I personally at most accept / don't feel awkward about teenagers being there. As we cannot deny that age group is definitely has knowledge, or aware of language, alcohol, and dancers.
