Don't miss it, at least once (although I predict that once will become more than once).
We went last week of March this year and had a BLAST.
I haven't heard of any whale watching but we HIGHLY recommend this dolphin tour: http://www.commanderzodiac.com/dolphin-watch/exploring-daufuskie-island/ We have gone twice now with the kids and its an amazing experience.

Oh no!!! My kids will be so disappointed. What a bummer.Sadly Pino Gelato closed recently. I was so sad. Going there was such a tradition for us. Nutella gelato-need I say more?
Is there tours for the swamps? My dd wants to see gators.
Can someone recommend a place for breakfast? If there are any within walking distance, that would just be a plus.
I just called to get the email of activities, thanks for mentioning this. There is a free nature tour to Pinckney Island on certain days (check the activities sheet for your week, call ahead they can email this to you right before you leave, reservations are needed) You board a small van and they drive you over. They have some nice binoculars they loan everyone for the tour. We walked out to some ponds and saw plenty of birds and quite a few gators.

The resort pool(s) are heated. The air temps will range from mid-60s to low 80s for the highs. The ocean temps will usually be mid/upper 60s in mid-March. The resort will offer a lot of activities and there is always something to enjoy locally. We are thinking of doing Hilton Head middle of March. Trying to figure out all the players who might join us on this trip. What is the weather like during the middle of March? is it warm enough yet for swimming or is the pool heated?
