WOW!!! THANKS to the Dis crew for the incredible footage of Illuminations: 25. Not like it makes me cry enough as it is! Can't wait to see it on 11/30! (Well, not the "25" part though!)

Which got me to thinking.....I just thought of a question for the podcast! I'm gonna get one on yet!!!

Yes, the video was amazing:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for bringing this to us..The show has always made me tear up anyway, but I was sitting here sobbing watching it.

Thanks so much for sharing this special show with all of those of us who could not be there to see it live.

I do have to ask, where were you sitting to have such a wonderful view?

I really enjoyed the IllumiNations 25 video. Thanks for posting it. I wish we could have been there for it.

Did you record it from the front entrance toward the Canada side? It was a very nice view. Also, do you know if the extra five minutes for the anniversary will be run on an ongoing basis. I expect not, but one can hope. :)

We will be there in December by which time they will likely be running the special "holiday" ending, but it would be great to see the anniversary show in person.

Thanks again! I have to check out the "Hallowishes" video now.

Hi Paul, This video was shot over on the side of World Showcase in the area in front of Norway. I discovered this spot by accident and really love it. Saying that, I will probably not be able to get near it in the future. I had lots of fun shooting this video. It was a very emotional show. Try shooting video as you start to get emotional about the show. The whole time I was shooting, I was thinking to myself two things,

1. Do I have enough memory card space to get in the whole 17 plus minutes on the camera. I was using a 2 GIG memory card and it was a close call on getting it all on this one card. Not knowing how long the show was actually going to run, did not help me in worrying if I would miss the special 25th anniversary featured segment.

2. People on the DIS will absolutely love the video and I can't wait for everyone to see it.

Just a note on the night it was shot. It poured up to 5 minutes before the show went off. It actually started after the regular 9 pm start time. I had two cameras set up to video and one shut itself down just prior to the start because of its moisture detector feature. The camera did not come back on for two days once I brought it home. It really rained hard that night before the start of the show.
The special 25th anniversary show was for that night only, I am sorry to say.
:moped:

Bob, thanks for risking your cameras. We had our to do the video and I told my daughter to put it away when it started to rain.

It was a miserable start but the fireworks were so worth it that night!!!!

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the extra info. I know the feeling of running out of tape or memory while recording something important. I have recorded IllumiNations many times, but always hope for a better video. For our upcoming trip I am planning to get a monopod. I don't have CartCam (or is it Cahtcam? ;) ) as you do.

Keep up the great work! You guys make a great team. I will be looking for you and Cartcam in December.

Oh my gosh!! Of all my trips to WDW, Celebration 25 was the most memorable by far - from the rededication at 10:01 to hearing Marty Sklar speak to meeting Jim McPhee...capped off by a wonderful dessert party and viewing Illuminations 25 from the Isola D'Italia.

I met some amazing people throughout the day. I learned what it was like to be the Dreamfinder from Ron Schneider himself, watched poor Nathan Rose toss down 25 shots of Beverley chatted with Deb Wils and shook the hand of my WDW Trivia hero, Lou Mongello.

I stayed in Epcot until midnight to watch the burnoff with a group of my fellow Epcot devotees and we had to be escorted out of the park by security because the gates had been padlocked. It was an experience defying description and one that will never be duplicated!

A warm and heartfelt thank you to all the CastMembers who made the day possible!!!

The EPCOT 25th anniversary fireworks which followed "Illuminations" were the most spectacular fireworks display we have ever seen! And we only found out about the special event on the day we arrived: Monday!

I agree, the fireworks were spectacular.

The rain that evening was pretty bad and people were speculating that the show would be cancelled. One positive thing with the rain, the crowds thinned out and we were able to get a great spot to view the show in front of Germany 10 minutes before the show started.

Early in the evening I got stuck with my 4 year old granddaughter and 3 people from Sweden under a narrow awning at a frozen drink stand in Japan for 30 minutes during the torrential downpour and ended up soaked clear through - no ponchos at the drink stand. My husband and son (who had our rain ponchos) were stuck in Australia totally dry with a couple who were buying rounds of wine for everyone trapped at the booth.

Even though 2 of us got soaked we all wanted to see the fireworks so we stayed. Thank goodness it was a warm evening or we would have had to leave. I am glad we stayed. My husband, my son and I agreed that it was the best fireworks we have seen. Our 4 year old thought they were "too loud".

I had hoped to take photos but was afraid to turn my camera on after all of the rain. My camera survived but my cell phone was not so lucky.

We saw Bob pulling cart cam out from in front of Norway after the show - you couldn't miss him with his Halloween lights. We were going to stop and say hi when we saw him stop for pictures at Innovations Fountain but our little one needed a bed. So a belated -hi Bob!
