You can't delete a thread. You can, however, go back to your post(s) on any given thread and delete your posts.

Only a moderator can delete a thread. You could try clicking the "report" link in the lower left of the first post on your thread and ask a moderator if they would delete it. If you have a good reason, they might do it. If there are replies already to your thread, they may not.
