Governor just shut down casinos, bars, nightclubs, movie theaters in Louisiana until April 13. Goes into effect tonight at midnight. Restaurants will be delivery/pick up only.
Thank you! I’ve been informed that the national guard will be conducting the patient screenings from now on, actuallyYOU be careful. We don't want your perspective as a patient!

Really? Where are you located in South Florida?Thank you! I’ve been informed that the national guard will be conducting the patient screenings from now on, actually
Thanks for your service...from an Army brat!In the military so nothing has changed lol. Everyone goes to work as normal with a couple emails about wash your hands.
I was just in Key West on Saturday. It was the last stop of our cruise that ended in Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday.Well, we have our first official cancellation.
We had a 4 day trip to Key West scheduled with relatives who were driving down from Georgia. But yesterday Key West declared a state of emergency and closed three popular public venues -- two of which we were going to visit. Then the State of Florida closed all dining areas of restaurants -- nothing but take-out for a while.
So, if we can't enjoy casual dining at open-air restaurants listening to old Jimmy Buffet music, and we can't applaud the sunset at Mallory Square...what's the point?
So we sadly canceled...for the second time in two years. Last year Grandma broke her leg, forcing us to cancel. LIFE is seriously getting in the way of Margaritaville!
DD is also obviously going to have her Grad Bash trip to Universal canceled. Universal is closed, and today the Governor announced that Florida schools will be closed almost two weeks past the Grad Bash trip -- so that's only a matter of when.
Our dental group has closed and they said they will only consider emergency cases on a case by case basis.Daughter works in a dentist office, the dental group just announced they are going to emergency only. All hours are being shortened for personnel. They have given each individual an extra 80 hours of PTO in case anyone needs to isolate. She normally works over 50 hours a week, so she is hoping they will still be able to pay their bills.
Not BaptistReally? Where are you located in South Florida?
I have a routine appointment at Baptist this week, and I understand that they are screening at all doors. If anyone is symptomatic at all, they take their temp and if they have any fever they go right to the ED.
Baptist allows one visitor currently, although I saw a couple of people who had two. I can think of a dozen reasons why someone would absolutely need to have one or even two, and you can probably give 100!Not Baptist
Yes, they've gotten really strict with the screenings here too. Yesterday they announced a no-visitor policy, amending our previous "visiting hours with one visitor per patient" policy we've had for all of a week. That'll be a fun one to enforce!
Good news! Nickelback and their fan remain unaffected:
Unaware of Coronavirus, Nickelback Continues Tour of Playing to Empty Stadiums
Completely oblivious of the Coronavirus, Canadian rock band Nickelback has continued the United States leg of their “All the Right Reasons” world tour as the typical crowd size of seven people hasn’t dwindled since the outbreak began. Public health officials who had advised the cancellation of concerts specifically stated that they will permit Nickelback shows to go on.
“Nobody will ever see a Nickelback concert as a possible public health hazard because they don’t have any fans,” CDC Robert Redfield stated, “We’ve confirmed that it’s just the tour bus driver, and a handful of the stage crew out there in the stands cheering the band on every night. It’s always been just them. In fact, if you want to be safe from the virus, one of the best places you could go is to a Nickelback concert, but I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”
