How Many Sports Stadiums Have You Been To?

I've been to the following in my life time so far:

MLB
Oriole Park at Camden Yards (Orioles, of course)
Citizens Bank Park (Phillies)
Nationals Park (Nationals, of course)
PNC Park (Pirates)

Minor League Baseball
Ripken Stadium (Ironbirds)

NFL
M&T Bank Stadium (Ravens)
Lincoln Financial Field (Eagles)
Memorial Stadium (Ravens first ever home game)

NCAA Football
SECU Stadium (Maryland)
Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (Navy)

I wished I didn't go so late into the seeing other Stadiums thing.

Born and raised for 24 years in Detroit and then I have been living in Florida for 39 years. I really could care less about seeing a bunch of stadiums, just no interest. I prefer watching baseball live, but I much rather watch football on TV.

Baseball Team Stadiums
Tigers - 2 different stadiums
Rays
Braves
Reds
A's
Giants

Minor Baseball
Pensacola Blue Wahoos yearly - (Reds minor team)

NCAA Football
Michigan Wolverines
A few bowl games in Florida and Rose Bowl

NFL
Lions - 3 different stadiums
Saints
Falcons

5 that I can think of right now:

MLB
  • Boston, MA (Red Sox - Fenway Park)
  • Arlington, TX (Rangers - not sure what the stadium was called back then)
Minor League Baseball
  • Brockton, MA (before the Red Sox farm team moved - Campanelli Stadium)
NFL
  • Foxboro, MA (Patriots - Gillette Stadium - but I was actually there for other events)
NCAA Football
none

NHL Hockey
  • Boston, MA (Bruins - TD Garden - but again, there for a different event)

What I can remember right off hand is:

The old Comiskey Park
Busch Stadium
Soldier Field
Lucas Oil
Gainbridge
The old Joe Lewis arena

As far as college stuff… not sure what they are all called but:
Notre Dame football
Indiana University basketball and football
University of Illinois football

Also some smaller college stuff

Have lost count. All the various Pittsburgh area stadiums ++

Have seen some great Minor league baseball fields, retro in design

My DSs played sports. Semipro and college stadiums galore. IMO they have more heart vs the glitzy pro ones. Not unusual for larger HS to have some very nice facilities.

Said kids grew up to coach football, rinse & repeat.

ESPN is a really nice facility, especially like the gymnastics set up there. How can you beat having the Fab Four less than a half hour away?

Not much -

the old Cleveland Stadium when both the Browns and Indians played in the 80,000 seat behemoth. Saw the Indians a lot in the late 70's, maybe one Browns game and a Bruce Springsteen concert (83 maybe?)

PNC park in Pittsburgh a few times. Maybe 3 Rivers stadium once for baseball when I was visiting an older sibling in Pittsburgh in the late 70's. That's it.

I am a tennis fan and have been to the Fitzgerald tennis stadium in DC several times. Not really a big league stadium, but Coco Gauff won last year and Nadal played there a few years ago so it attracts some big name players.

Let me see. I'll try to account for the name of the place when I went. In a few cases I don't remember the stadium naming rights.

MLB

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum - Oakland A's
Candlestick Park - San Francisco Giants
Pacific Bell (etc.) Park - San Francisco Giants
Angels/Anaheim Stadium - Anaheim Angels (don't get me started on place name changes)
Safeco Field - Seattle Mariners

Minor League

Raley Field - Sacramento River Cats.

NFL

Oakland Coliseum - Oakland Raiders
Candlestick Park - San Francisco 49ers
Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego Chargers

NCAA Football

Califonia Memorial Stadium - Cal Bears
Stanford Stadium - Stanford Cardinal
Qualcomm Stadium - Holiday Bowl

That's basically it. I've never really travelled much just to see sports. I remember when I was an Oakland A's season ticket holder, there was one guy who would travel once a year - usually during interleague play.

This will give some info away, in the sense that I have a far greater preference for college sports (or minor league) over pro 😂. Also, I keep thinking I've probably forgotten things - but here goes:

NFL:
BoA Stadium (Carolina Panthers)*
Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis Colts - but also the Big Ten Football Championship)

MLB:
Wrigley Stadium (Chicago Cubs)

NBA:
United Center (Chicago Bulls)*

NASCAR:
Charlotte Motor Speedway*

College:
Greensboro Coliseum (various NCAA MBB games)
Wallace Wade Stadium (Duke FB)
Williams-Brice Stadium (Univ of South Carolina football)*
Justice Center (UNC-Asheville MBB and WBB)
Ohio Stadium/"The HorseShoe" (Ohio State Football)*
TD AmeriTrade Park (College World Series)
Memorial Stadium (Nebraska football)
Pinnacle Bank Arena (Nebraska MBB)
CenturyLink Stadium (NCAA basketball tournament)
Verizon Center (ACC MBB Tournament - this is likely a pro stadium, I'd have to assume)
Assembly Hall (Indiana University MBB and WBB)
Memorial Stadium (IU football)

Minor League Baseball:
Greensboro Hornets stadium
Greensboro Grasshoppers stadium
Winston-Salem Warthogs stadium (they've since changed their mascot - so I'm dating myself a bit)
Durham Bulls stadium
Omaha Storm-Chasers stadium

* - been to (inside), which was the question, but didn't see anyone play.

The kids and I also have a thing about visiting college campuses and stadiums even if we can't go inside - so we've been to places like the U of Louisville football stadium, U of Kentucky, Western Kentucky, etc but haven't been inside.
