Your kiddo has a favorite ice cream shop? I mean my kid likes the ice cream aisle at the grocery store...
Seriously, around here, we have Dairy Queen and Baskin-Robbins, maybe Culver’s if you count concrete mixers.
I think Culver's is the best out of those three and ice cream comes with a kids meal!

Or maybe not. Realtors here were sued for discrimination for steering people away from “undesirable “areas. Seems the undesirable areas were full of minorities.
We normally try to set things up on our own through Zillow. With everything being online it's gotten pretty easy to find and look at houses

They gave it up in the mid-80's after moving to TX. They had a good following in LA but with my FIL working FT, it became too hard to try to get established again. They do still play at home and lately, they've been paying to have their old recordings cleaned up so they can share them out. I can tell you that it's a fun story to tell but it was not a good life for a kid. My dh was in bars many nights being watched over by servers. He'd sit in a booth or at a table and color or play. His parents frequently closed the bar down so they may not be going home until 3am.
Yeah I would never take kids to our gigs. We play until 1 am and then by the time we tear everything down we won't leave until 2 am and usually have at least an hour drive home. We've gone to bed as late as 5 am before. It's not ideal for us, but it would be really bad if we took kids. Some of the places we go wouldn't let kids in anyway. We're trying to play at more bar and grills so the crowds are better and the bathrooms are cleaner lol. It's really hard to get a following around here because people just don't go out and listen to bands like they used to

I just listen to them when I'm out walking, but I think watching would make more sense for this. It says which city when you look them up, so you could just watch the ones that were made for towns of interest. Nice to get a local perspective, I think.

Just such a pain, since it means you really have to plan in advance. It's not the money so much as the long process that I find annoying. I'm really glad we are planning for 2019 & 2020 since it's unlikely I'd want to return for a while after that.
I found 3 of their videos and none of those are towns we're interested in, but I did find one from last December that looks interesting. It's 56 minutes long so it may take me awhile to get through it.

I think we will be close to starting a family and once that happens we’ve talked about me staying home. Dh and I both are on board with me being a stay at home mom. My teaching license actually expires this year in November so I’m not sure what I’ll do. I’d have to look at the process of changing my license to a Florida one

I want to give you some gentle advice: do not give up your ability to earn a good income. Keep your license active and do whatever it takes to switch it to another state if necessary. This gives you options and options = freedom.

Sorry it wasn't more helpful. They say they are making more but it may not be in time to help you.

My almost 10 year old can now eat 2 kids meals. Or a double burger. Cheaper to buy the ice cream separately. Our local DQ is pretty good, and B-R is not bad but none is exactly gourmet or homemade.
Oh wow. I get one kids meal and sometimes can't finish all of the food, including the ice cream.

Yeah, can’t wait to have a teenage boy. :sad2: Tomorrow night we’re taking DS, nephew and DSs friend to an AHL hockey game for DSs birthday. Culver’s is next to the stadium, so we’ll have dinner there first. I know DS will want a double burger (which I usually don’t allow) and not sure how much his friend will eat, but at least my nephew will only eat a chicken tender or two. Lol. Then at the stadium, they’ll want more snacks. I may be able to meet MSR in my current card. :P

EDIT 1: I owe @amalone1013 a lot of royalties
EDIT 2: I'm losing my voice because talking in my high voice for 2 hours really takes it's toll on me!!
This made me :rotfl2:
I really hope you’re kidding about using your high voice for 2 hours. Because wouldn’t it be easier to ask DW to just tell them “Let him handle it” then give the phone to you? That’s what my DH did. Because listening to him bumble around on the phone drives me nuts.

What do you not like about Zillow?
At least around here, they are not very accurate or current. They list houses available which aren’t. They give inaccurate price estimates. Realtor.com uses the MLS and is pretty much accurate within a few hours. I have a search for our locality saved on Realtor.com and it send me new listing updates in real time. For instance, a house I pass by on the way to work this morning had a for sale sign posted when I cam home. Had a notification from Realtor on my iPad already. (I don’t have notified on my phone, I don’t need interruptions at work). In fact when my realtor sent me daily updates of new listings, they came every am. Many times I had already seen the listing pop up on Realtor.com the night before. Zillow May be more accurate in other locations, just not as helpful in our locale.

Lol, got any sports kids in that group? Make room in your future grocery budget! My Mom was able to keep up with my teen brother until he joined the cross country team & then he basically inhaled everything. Do you know what an In-N-Out 4x4 is? She found out! (4 patties & cheeses :) on really hungry days it was straight up 2 double-doubles)

@Haley R Zillow is the same for the Denver area...shows houses that are no longer for sale and price estimates are way off. I also like Realtor.com better

I agree because you never know what may happen in the future so it's not just about freedom but also security in case you suddenly have to become the income earner.

Thanks for the info! They did tell Dh they would help with the relocation. I’m not sure how far that goes like if they would give us a specialist but it would definitely help. We’ve started looking at houses on Zillow just in case. They are definitely more than we paid for our house but that’s expected. There are options we would be willing to go for.
When I look around down there I'm mostly like, dang we cant even get a starter house for that price :rotfl: Crazy how different things are!
