Either is fine, most people like the convenience of SM, but if there are any questions and you don't mind calling, calling might be easier in your case. Good luck.

Success! And I used SM instead of calling. It was definitely the way to go, I think.

The first customer rep was CLUESLESS. Lol. This is how he responded to my request:

"Thank you for contacting us. On June 12, 2020, we discontinued the Ultimate Rewards program for all consumer and business debit cards. If no action was taken, any remaining points were redeemed and put into your DDA account. If there was a negative point balance or no remaining points, the Ultimate Rewards account was closed. Thank you for being a Chase customer. Sincerely, ..."

I politely replied that I was not referring to a debit card in a discontinued program but was referring to my credit cards that were still actively earning points, etc. and again made the request to have my points transferred in order to combine them in my personal account.

The customer rep who answered my reply SM, just informed me that she had made my transfer and the points were available immediately and thanked me for being a Chase customer. I checked and all is as it should be in my accounts.

With my luck I would have gotten a clueless rep on the phone. SM was much quicker (and way less painful) even with the back and forth.

Glad I found out about sending a SM from this thread. First instinct would have been to call on my part.

For those that have used points to fly to Europe in lie flat seats, how hard are those to find for 60,000 points or so one way? I need flights for 2 from Houston to London around September 1, 2022 for a DCL cruise leaving on the 4th from Dover. I'm looking at United but open to other airlines. I have UR points and Capitol One miles.

Yeah, I had one respond back that I couldn’t move the CL from Biz to personal and I was like what the heck! I just re-sent the message and the next rep got it right.

You can move CL from business to personal? I have been told by people here that you can't do that.

Totally agree! I looked at Aruba too. Not going to work for us. I thought they had a direct flight from FLL. Apparently not. Probably just do the keys instead.

I think the majority of the Caribbean flights are strictly out of BWI at the moment. Which, of course, is perfect for me. I wanted a Sat flight home and they were SO by the time I booked and had to settle for Fri.

No, you can’t. That’s what the CSR wrote in his response when I asked to move 10,000 URs.

Comparatively, the rep who told me my account number and name didn't match wasn't so bad! 😆

Why didn't DH and I apply for Citi Premier? Ugh, i'm kicking myself for applying for the CIC instead of this.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new card. I've been maxed out with Chase for a while (5/24). Never been a huge fan of citi, but the SUB looked good, and I've been without an MSR for a long time. So I applied and was approved! Thanks for sharing the offer!

We recently booked business class on UR points through British Airways from DFW to London for July 2022, also for a DCL cruise. We were originally going this summer and had to push it back a year. Last year, we were booked to fly out of IAH on Singapore Airlines to Manchester, but they had trimmed down their flights for next year and we couldn’t make the dates work. I’ve exhausted my knowledge, but hope this helps.

Learned something new with Hyatt- if you book with FNC, you can’t use your suite night upgrades on the stay.

Luckily, my concierge contacted the resort and I think we will ok. DH and DS have become room snobs.

Do you know if they will let you upgrade FNC's with points? I started to call today and got distracted.

Chase UR portal trouble. Booked a trip with URs for next June with DHs CSP. Then downgraded CSP to CFU and can no longer access the trip. The portal says he has no trips booked. I have the itinerary number and called Chase travel. They can see it but no idea why I can't so they transferred me to Chase customer service who tried to convince me that I can't see it because I booked it 3 months ago and trips no longer show up after that long. 🙄 um no. So no one can fix it and I can't change or cancel it or even make sure it's still there. Ugh.
So I actually had this issue as well! I was able to cancel my trip through the automated line. Have you tried calling the travel specialist line in the evening when they were closed? That was the only way I was able to access the trip and cancel it.

So I got an offer in the mail yesterday saying I was pre-approved for Amex BBP. I have been in Amex pop-up hell for probably a year now. I have 3 cards (Everyday Preferred, upgraded in Jan/Feb I think - Delta Gold Biz and Hilton Surpass). I plan on likely keeping the 3 I have, but I would like to try for a SUB on a Delta Plat biz at some point and close out my gold. I already met my MSR on my IHG which I got in August. I was planning on the MDD next, but now I'm debating if I do a CIC instead (again once I do the MDD I'm out of the chase game for some time). So the debate is getting the MDD vs keep going on the INK train.

I wanted to do the Amex Plat when before the insane AF jump, so I don't see myself doing that now. I want to do the free Hilton at some point. The Amex Delta Plat Biz (maybe the personal at some point). And then I think I've gotten all the Amex I want (maybe someday do a gold). I know a lot of people like the BBP since it's 2x MR. Does the pre-approval mean I won't get the pop-up?

Is there any reason to jump at the MDD over doing another INK right now? I know the SUB for the MDD are very high. But I guess I'm looking at it as, there are 75k URs on an INK I couldn't get for almost 1.5 years if I did the MDD (possibly longer depending on what I do once over the 5/24). I know if the MDD offers drop I'm losing those URs, but I think worse case I'm looking at 50k URs. So I'm still coming out ahead doing another INK.

I glanced through this email this morning. Looks like I get to keep my Diamond status another year and can hold off app'ing P2 for Aspire. Still hoping for an upgrade offer on one of our Surpasses. I canceled my Aspire 4/2020 and have held my status via extensions.
I'm right there with you. I think I cancelled my Aspire in Jan 2020....and I'm still cruising on the Diamond benefits! I was going to try and upgrade for next summer, but now I don't think I'll need to :) I'm trying to figure out Hawaii, so at least I know I still have Diamond if we do Hilton.

I opted for this card with my recent app instead of Chase. It sounded like a good deal. Still waiting, 11 days later, for it to arrive.
Ugh... I wonder if Citi expedites cards? I'm still looking at having DH apply for it, I'm mostly interested in transferring the SUB to AA. I have some large payments that I could charge and met the MSR in the first 30 days. hmmm.

I wouldn't go above 5/24, not until something changes with Chase Biz cards. It seems like all good things always end, my plan is to keep churning Chase Biz cards until it isn't possible anyone.
