Ugh, I feel you on this!!! We thought cruising was better, but now 😭 We leave for a cruise in 3 weeks, and just got an email last night from carnival about tightened mask requirements. When we booked this cruise back in August, we were thinking the mask mandates may even be gone by the time the cruise rolled around. Now we’re just a few weeks away and it seems like things have suddenly taken a turn in the past week. I hope ours isn’t cancelled!

We leave on January 2nd on the Carnival Mardi Gras. We were also on the August 7th Cruise on the same ship. In August they had just changed it to indoor masking. Back then we were able to walk indoors without masks but had to have them on when entering the Buffet or other restaurants, the stores and the casino. As long as we can sit in some of the bar locations and be able to take them off when sitting - it won't be too bad. During the day we are mostly outside. Glad for the all non-smoking in the casino though. We will just go with the flow - better than being at home. Too hard to change with the kids schedules.

I hope that will be the case when sitting in bars. However, I have heard numerous reports of "sip and cover" while in bars now, from people currently on Carnival cruises. That, for us, is a little much when you're seated at a table with your party, and have to put your mask back up after every sip. Would love to hear your report back after you return, as we sail on Jan 13.

I will report back. I don't want to do the Sip and Cover either. That is a bit much - especially if not around others not in your party... We got the Emed Home Proctor tests to take next week - hope all goes well with those. We got great deals on the cruise - free inside room for me and DD20. Then DS22 decided he needed to use up some vacation time so he got a room for like $950 for him and his girlfriend with $500 OBC. So we will go and make the best of it!! (DH doesn't want to go until the testing/mask requirements are relaxed - hopefully by our December 2022 Cruise...)

Not on Carnival but RCCL Explorer of the Seas right now. So far it has been pretty laxed with the new mask rules. No one has asked me to mask up while sitting or walking with a beverage. We haven’t been to any shows yet since it is where the main difference will be noticed. They weren’t previously required at the vaccinated only show.

We’re having the same issue. Ours were supposed to be delivered yesterday by the post office and they didn’t come today either. No idea when they’re coming because the tracking just says will be delivered by post office 😕

Did you ever get your Target gift cards? Mine were listed as going to be delivered by USPS 12/13 last Monday. The tracking number is invalid of course. I called customer service, they sent me to the gift card dept. The agent was very nice & offered immediate resolution. He said they allow 7-10 days for delivery, after that they consider it lost in transit or delivered to the wrong address. He offered a refund & allowed me to repurchase with the 10% discount. I had 2 options: he would process e gift cards immediately with the 10% discount. Or I could go to the store & buy physical cards for full price, call the gift card dept back & get the 10% refunded then. I’m going to do that early tomorrow. He gave me the direct phone number for the gift card dept & a case number. He did say he had to deactivate the cards that were mailed originally before he processed the refund. The whole call was just over 20 minutes, including all the automated nonsense before I got a live person.

So if anyone else is still waiting for your gift cards, you might want to call & see what can be done.

Ours ended up coming!

I have been in Amex jail for soooooo long. Even DH got in and out faster and was able to get a Biz Plat.
:charac2:

Although it was a bittersweet popup because a 15k MSR when I am already working on a SW Biz/personal would be pretty intense.

Well nevermind! I found a targeted mailer in my 'get to it later' stack and got my Biz Plat...here comes some spend! Take that Amex Jail!! :car:

CSR vs CSP questions here on the booking portal..... I'm looking at a DS hotel on a certain date, it shows as available on CSR portal, but not on CSP....why is that? Can I call in to book using UR if I only held CSP? B/c it is available obviously. And how would I calculate the points cost if it's 9,569 UR on CSR portal? Thank you for any help here, what is happening? Different availability on the same portal?

Does anyone know why some fees on SW flights are $11.60. I have always experienced paying $5.60. Some flights still show $5.60 - others are up to $11.20 for same day, same airports, different times.

I think the fee is by "flight" - so it would be $11.20 for tickets that have a connection with two different flight numbers. $5.60 for a non-stop or connection where it's the same flight number all the way through.

I booked two flights this morning. Both have two different flight numbers - meaning both had connections with a change in plane/flight #. For one the fee was $5.60 for the other the fee was $11.20. Makes no sense. 🤔

Huh. Then I've got nothing. That seems very weird to me. Now I'm intrigued.

The only reason I can think of is if the CSR portal is still running on Expedia and not cxLoyalty. Do you see "Powered by Expedia" in the CSR portal and "Afar" in the CSP? I'm thinking if you call in, the phone people will be with cxLoyalty, so it won't work, but I'm not sure.

Should be 11,483 UR with CSP if I did that right lol.
