Is it me, or does Space 220 look a little underwhelming?

I doubt we will go. Too expensive for a veggie meal. If it wasn't Prix fixe, then it would be something we would try. For meat eaters, this looks like a nice choice though.

This could wil be an expensive experience.

Has there been a kids meal selection listed yet? Thinking for now this will be a skip on my upcoming trip because it's more of a nice steak house vibe. Was hoping there'd be a more lunch friendly, casual kind of vibe. But would be nice for more of a date night sans kids on a future trip!

Shocking prices when Steakhouse 71's just came out at way more reasonable price points...I mean, apparently, you don't even get the sides free, but you are stuck with an app/dessert.

And I feel bad for veg eaters - their food is at a ridiculous price point...salad, pasta, cake or sorbet for $79 - damn!

They did list the kids lunch and dinner menus. Unfortunately I am not sure if anyone snagged a screenshot of them. Didn't think they would disappear.

Edit: @Gary2T captured the Kids menus along with other menus:

It's outrageous but if Disney gets the customers they don't care.

It's just a confusing strategy for vegetarians/vegans...

Most restaurants with this type of "all one price with just a few plus ups" prix-fixe concept (admittedly usually in tasting menu form) still have two prices...one for the veg only meal, and one for all options, and the veg option is always cheaper b/c it is always cheaper. I just don't see why Disney didn't make the same menu with a $59/$79/$99 3 course fixed pricing for the veg, the non veg, and the splurge - and have the limited veg menu (b/c it is really limited), all veg options and the reg options available in the non veg, and all veg and non veg available in the splurge.

But I guess they are planning for a dining plan return, so it's easier to just hit 2 checkmarks for dinner for everyone and then charge cash plus ups on the extras...

I see your point, but none of the fixed priced meals at Disney are set up that way. They are all one price, regardless of what you order. Unfortunately there will always be some things that are a better value than others.

I think its a ridiculous price, especially for pre-teen kids. It was on our MUST list and now its on our must skip list. There are hundreds of other places to get a fabulous dinner. For our family of 4, it would cost over $350 for one dinner. We aren't opposed to Disney splurges, but this feels more than that.

We will wait for some real life feedback before making a decision on this. The menu does look rather uninspired, but if they execute it well it could still be great. And for that price it really needs to be great. For me, the real drawback is the location. There are so many wonderful options in Epcot that there really is no need pay that kind of money for a great meal. But then Space 220 was never going to be about the food. It's basically the space version of BOG or Cindy's. You're going for the experience, not the food.

Our plan for now is to try and hit up the lounge just to see inside. I imagine that will be tough to do initially, but hopefully once all the initial hoop-la runs its course we can try to get in that way. Though I showed the beer menu to my 23 year old beer snob son last night and his only comment was, "someone needs to be fired" :rotfl2: . Hey, he has his priorities!!

I agree that I would like to see folks here review the restaurant. I am VERY much a foodie, but my take on foods rarely seems to align with the Disney food bloggers POV. Most of what they find great ... I find to be too sugary or too just anything but delicious. I consider myself a fine dining enthusiast and pretty decent home cook so it's always a disappointment to read the concepts for the menus and have them fall so flat when push comes to shove. The photos of the food at Space 220 were underwhelming but perhaps they taste better than the preview food looked?

However, the newly released menu for the 50th at California Grill looks great.

I think the price for Space is too high for what it is, but people seem willing to pay it. I think the screens are fun but not sure it's worth the entertainment premium.

I agree with you @Eastern! I'm less concerned with theming - more concerned with interesting food concepts!

Most of the Disney vloggers have a very basic palate. I love a good chicken finger and a milkshake too, but too many vlogers say everyhing is 'amazing' and do their viewers a disservice IMO.

For example : Just went to walk-in at the Creperie . From my observation , they I’ll need more time to get to full speed and are probably restricting table reservations to not disappoint. And expect this slow rollout for Space also. The Creperie was not very full and ordering Potato Soup and a veggie crepe and sweet dessert crepe took forever on Saturday at 5:00. I mean how long does it take to fill a bowl of soup and make a crepe? Price fixe was $33 . Which is close to pricing alacarte… No discounts !
I dislike vlogger bloggers and refuse to support them and wish Disney would not use them also. Almost makes me upset enough to just bring my own peanut butter sandwich with this current style of advertising.
Oh and I got a lecture from the castmember at the podium outside SciFi on Saturday 10:30 a.m. She just pulled her podium out and I was first guest but apparently I need to “get with the system because that is the way Disney chooses to go” and need to self check myself in on MDE .
Okay can I also scan you out of a job cause that is the way Disney really is going!
