We were there last week in a DVC deluxe studio which had not been updated yet. I'm assuming that the DVC rooms will be the last to be renovated, but have read that all rooms should be finished by March this year - sorry I can't remember where I read that lol :flower3:

DVC Rooms won't be updated in this process, as DVC resorts are considered independent of the cash resorts and have their own refresh schedule. DVC Rooms wrapped up their "soft goods" refresh in 2016 so the next "hard goods" refurb will be likely in 2023-2024. DVC does a 7/14 schedule, every 14 years "hard goods" and every 7 years in between a "soft goods"

I think the most recent update we heard on this thread was that the zebra and kudu trails were finished, and they're currently working on the ostrich and giraffe rooms.

I have a reservation for standard rooms in a couple of weeks, and my fingers are crossed that means all the standards are either finished or currently under renovation. I'm hoping that means a renovated room is basically a given at this point.

Ahh I see, thanks for the info crvetter - I have to say the studio we stayed in (room 5467 on Zebra trail) was somewhat tired but it wasn't a problem for us, everything was clean and tidy.
I would say it could definitely do with the lighting being updated sometime though :)

Hi all! So is there a benefit to doing online check-in on MDE? I’ve heard that rooms can be quite a hike from the lobby, so is requesting a room near the lobby beneficial? Or would those standard rooms pretty much be a view of the parking lot, thus taking us out of potentially being a partial savannah view?
