I loved the Podcast comment referring to the Joad's and the Grapes Of Wrath when discussing the POP. After I read 40 pages that pretty much said "there was dust, lots of it and all over" I loved the book. Some of us who listen to the Pod cast are also well read. It is a Classic. Any one else want to suggest a good book?

I haven't read the book, but I did see the movie some time ago. It's a worthwhile addition to your Netflix queue. It stars Henry Fonda, and the final scene is particularly powerful.

I'm a huge fan of old movies and am always shocked when people don't "get" references to them. I really was surprised that everyone was going :confused3 .

OhmiGawd when they said that I was transported to my senior year!

I remember having to find the Bruce Springsteen song, "The Ghost of Tom Joad", and reading Grapes of Wrath, watching the movie and making a GIANT collage of Time Life pictures on the Dust Bowl! When they said that I laughed out loud.

Now if they can fit in some Crime and Punishment, Hamlet, and Lady Chatterly's Lover you should have my fall semester of senior year all sewn up! :) God has it been 11 years???

Oh man, I am a huge Grapes of Wrath fan. I loved that reference. Every time we go somewhere I make a joke about being the Joads.:lmao: I have been a Steinbeck fan since 11th grade when a teacher recommended Tortilla Flats. A whole book about getting drunk and making money to get drunk again:rotfl2: , I was sold on Steinbeck for life.
