Anyone remember what MK park hours were on July 3 & 4 in 2018?
Anyone remember what MK park hours were on July 3 & 4 in 2018?
Thank you!July 3:

EP - 9-9
HS - 8-10:30 with EMH at 7am
AK - 9-10:30
July 4:
MK - 8-1 am
EP - 9-9
HS - 8-10:30 with EMH at 7am
AK - 9-10:30 with EMH at 8am
Have you done the late EMH on the 3rd? How are the crowds at the rides during/after fireworks? Trying to decide if it’s worth making this a park day or just sticking to our pool day plans.

Thanks — that’s helpful. The late hours were tempting me but I think I’ll avoid all of that and stick to plan A.I didn’t do the late EMH in 2018 but did in 2017. We watched fireworks from Poly then headed to MK.
I am not one to be concerned with crowds, big groups, masses of people, etc, but the scene on Main Street/the Hub when we got there was the one time I’ve ever had that ‘slightly unsafe’ it’s so crowded feeling. You just couldn’t move, despite the CMs trying their best to keep lanes.
Once past that, it was fine from a “packed” perspective. Ride lines never really did clear out all that much even during the EMH time so I didn’t think it was all that valuable... but if you’re a night owl it’s great.
Overall I still think 7/3 and 7/4 is pretty manageable, relatively speaking.
YMMV!
Im hoping for a real late closing on July 3 We should arrive sometime about 2 am (driving in from Louisiana) so if we can make up time and wake the family up at the TTC rather than our resort and rush them to Space Mountain they will all love me. And kinda hate me at the same time, but more of the love thing.
We are planning Epcot on the 4th and are planning to just watch the fireworks from Narcoossee's on the 3rd and avoiding MK and transportation on the 3rd. I will admit though seeing the likely late hours for the 3rd really temps me to check out MK after the fireworks end... I have been following along with the Touring Plans predictions and am really surprised by the very low numbers (and even very reasonable numbers on the 3rd and 4th)... We have gone in the fall the last few years and the Touring Plan numbers have been quite a bit higher for those dates compared to how they are predicting late June and July for this year... Should be interesting...
We have visited both times of year, most recently July 4th week in both 2016 and 2018, and early November in 2017 (and many years prior). We have found that summer, including July 4th week, is far less crowded than we ever anticipated. Crowds have actually been lighter than any of our fall trips. Granted, we've mostly avoided the parks on July 4th, and the heat makes the parks less tolerable even when they're less crowded, but crowd patterns have certainly changed.
We avoided MK on July 3 and July 4, so I'm afraid I can't share personal experience on those particular days. We stayed at the Polynesian and were able to watch fireworks from the beach, so we chose to avoid the crowds. But I can tell you that MK was not crowded at all on July 5. We were at WDW from June 29 - July 8, and actually found that crowds were manageable all week. My best advice is to hit the parks early, take an afternoon break to escape the heat, and then go back to the parks for dinner and evening fun. That strategy worked great for us. Hope you have a fabulous trip!I found Oct last year to be pretty manageable crowd wise and the two years before that we went the two weeks right after US Thanksgiving (2016, 2017) and I found these dates to be pretty busy crowd wise. Especially on non party MK days like Saturdays. Really busy. The TP predictions for late June and early July are actually published on their site right now and they are predicting a 6 for MK on July 3rd. I found the below link to their predicted ride wait times for July 3rd and they are really low based on my experiences with non summer travel to Disney. Mid afternoon under an hour for the main headliner and everything else well under an hour. Based on your experience, would you say that is typical for this time of year? I have seen video of July 4th at MK and it looks absolutely scary in terms of crowds so that is why we were going to avoid it on July 3rd, but these wait times just seem so low (I do appreciate that these wait times are not really a measure of people in the parks per se). Thanks, Greg

So the question is... how early do we get there with little ones so they can make it for the EMH (July 3 for us).Park hours are updated! MK is open until 2:00 a.m. on July 3 (for those with EMH) and until 1:00 a.m. on July 4th! I'm so happy!!!
