Just disembarked the 8/23 sailing of the Dream - Happy to answer any questions

Maybe DCL needs to send out more emails? It’s weird I’m engaged with what’s going on because of these boards. If I wasn’t on these boards would I know as much? If you book through Costco or some other agency do they keep you informed? For the Covid tests all you need is the digital results. It’s not even something you could forget you just have to have a smart phone.

From friends currently on board, you get PLENTY of Know Before You Go information. I think people assume they are experts and don’t bother to read them.

As for Costco, I have no clue because I believe in supporting small businesses and not big box stores. I know for my WDW trips either I have gotten things and/or my TA has forwarded them to me.

I’m one of those people who will check my paperwork five times before leaving the house ….

I've already had nightmares about forgetting COVID documents at home and trying to get them before the ship sails. And we don't sail until February.

For large groups like the 18 people, how are they designated as a traveling party? We are meeting my brother's family on the ship but won't be traveling with them or seeing them in advance of the cruise. I'd hate to be turned away if someone in his family (or vice versa) had an issue when we won't have close contact until after boarding the ship.

Could Concierge attend both nights? Or was it just on your assigned night?

They hosted firework viewings up there both nights.
Yes, it was great. Sad to see it so empty, but nice to avoid crowds/lines.

Let’s hope by February we don’t need Covid documents.

I applaud you on supporting small business. Unfortunately the city I live in has very few. It’s mostly big box stores and chain restaurants. My favorite restaurant which was one of the few small business in my area went out of business during Covid. They were open for 64 years.

Confession: We've cruised DCL 4 times. I am the planner and have high attention to detail. I struggled BEFORE Covid to figure out all checking in and paperwork etc! I'm going to be in trouble in January!

Can you share a bit about what it was like between your two cruises? How long were you off the ship? What was the procedure like to disembark and then re-embark?
I wasn’t bad at all actually… all the B2B cruisers waited in Pub 687 until everyone was off the ship… then they escorted us down to go through customs(super easy and fast) although getting off the 2nd half was super quick too… they put us back in line downstairs where you used to wait to go through security check( this is where you check in now for the most part) double checked to make sure we were safe passage cleared to reboard ( kids and unvaccinated guests were taken over to the tents to get tested) then they have a bunch of chairs that we waited in until they were ready to check us in and double check passports or DL and BC…. Not too long after that we were told we could reboard…. We got off close to 10 I think and were onboard I want to say by 11:30…they don’t announce your name and nothing is open until about 1:30 other then Cove Cafe which offers coffee, water, sandwiches, fruit and pastries… it was nice to wander the ship with very few on board and to see the 1st new guests arriving onboard… all in all it was a smooth and unstressful process!

Hi, thank you for taking time to answer questions for everyone. Can you tell me if the Skyline was open other than for tastings? We like to spend an hour or so there each night for Happy Hour(s). TIA
Not open for anything other then tastings…. Let’s pray for normalcy soon rather then later

Our family loves trivia, game shows, etc. Are those activities still available?
They are… it just doesn’t seem as many different options as before because they do the same things Multiple times so they don’t have everybody feeling like they have to be there that one time they can spread the amount of people showing up in these locations over time

It sounded like they all showed up togther

What is the first checkpoint for port arrival time? What if you're 15 minutes early? Can you at least park in the garage and then wait for your port arrival time?

We're trying to make sure we arrive right when the window opens for us, but want to be prepared in case we are a few minutes early.
I did a back to back and was watching the parking garage to see what they did and saw several cars try and turn into the parking garage area but were turned away. I had read from others they are very strict about this, but we were late like usual 🤦🏻‍♀

Is there a checklist out there somewhere that would help?

Good to know, we are on a back to back 9/3 and 9/6, never have done it before and decided to since our Fantasty 7 nighter got cancelled. They let you keep all your stuff in your room correct if it is the same room for both crusies correct?
