I have a few minutes to kill so I thought I'd see if I can get another update done before the weekend.
Exciting update to the August adults trip: we booked our flight yesterday! I've been watching Southwest prices for the last month and yesterday they hit the lowest I'd seen so we just went ahead and booked. It was about $210 each round trip, so I think we did pretty good. Well, that's what my sisters paid. I used credit card points for mine.
(Seriously, Chase Sapphire card - can't recommend it enough)
We're on the first flight out and land in Orlando just after 8:00 AM. It will be an extremely early day, but we are determined to make the most of our time, so the basic plan right now is to head to Epcot when we get to our resort. One of the nights we're there, Epcot has EMH until 11 so if we end up needing to cut this day short, we're hoping to make up the things we missed at night.

Monday, January 14 - Epcot (Part 2)
We had a FP for Soarin' that was opening when we finished lunch, but not wanting to repeat the motion sickness DH had on FOP right after eating, we decided to settle our stomachs by riding LWTL first. I think there was a very minimal wait, maybe five minutes or so - and we were loaded into our boat.
This was my first time riding this and I thought it was super cute! I think my favorite part was going through the greenhouse. My kids thought this was fun too, after we got past the first animatronic scenes where I'm pretty sure DS2 thought a carnotaurus was going to pop through the wall. Seriously, the number of times I said "this is not a scary ride" on this trip should have been a drinking game. But, I'm pretty sure that's also how I got the kids on scary rides so who can blame them for not trusting me.
ANYWAY, after LWTL we were well inside our FP window for Soarin', so that was our next stop. We actually ended up waiting about 20 minutes, even with the FP. Once we were directed down to our theater, the line just seemed to go very slowly. Then we found out the middle section of seats was down for some reason, so that was the reason for the slow loading.
DS1 rode this on our last trip and the height scared him, but he was willing to be brave and try it again. I asked for the lowest level so we wouldn't be so high up off the ground. He ended up loving this ride and said it was his favorite of the whole trip!
DS2 was not as happy - he didn't like the eagle that swooped over the screen during one scene, he said it scared him.
We were done with The Land, so we headed next door to The Seas for our next FP for Nemo and stopped along the way for some pictures.
DS2 loved this ride - I love Peach the starfish at the end, she says the funniest things, if you listen closely.
My kids love the Seas pavilion and we spent a lot of time playing around inside.
We did Turtle Talk With Crush next. We must have just missed a show because we waited quite a bit, but at least there are a lot of things to look at.
When we went in, the theater was only about 1/3 full. We were surprised when DS1 was picked by Crush at the very beginning to answer some questions, which was really fun.
If you've seen this show, you know that also means Crush had questions for me, which was super uncomfortable for me to be in the spotlight, but it was funny for the kids.
We also got a new (to us) scene where Dory came out and was squished into the glass by a whale, which was really cute and fun that it was a little different from the last time we watched this.
When we came out, there was a scuba diver doing some kind of demonstration that we watched for a few minutes.
Then we went upstairs to look at some more fish tanks.
We left the Seas for our next FP at Spaceship Earth and along the way we saw the line for Baymax was super short so we stopped in for a ba-la-la-la-la.
Blue skies? Check. We seriously could have not asked for better weather for this trip.
I tried to recreate this picture from 2016:
(not even close to the same but okay lol)
We got to SE near the end of our 2:25-3:25 window and basically walked onto the ride.
(I'm not sure what happened to my hair or DS1's glasses )
While we were on the ride, I was able to pull a 4th FP for TT at 4:30, which was exactly what we wanted.
Up next: we finish up our evening at Epcot and make a trip to Disney Springs!
