I think Pete who was so down on this attraction is "missing the boat" somewhat.
It's a very unique experience and imo a must do.
Sure, it's nice to capture a great photo on the trip, but it isnt necessarily the bumpyness that keeps you from getting good pictures - it is also that it has to keep moving to keep the lines short.
Pete later mentioned that the club level safari (after hours - also done as a Grand Gathering experience) is far superior - he's right on this, but it's because it stops for photos (which it just cannot do during operating hours). The after hours one not only stops, but occasionally waits for animals to come out.
I think the bumpiness makes the tour more authentic.
We did it both during main park hours and as the GG experience, so got both perspectives. While the GG was much better, the basic one is still a must do imo.
