Yes it does, 1000 points gets you $1 off gas, so if you buy $250 gift card you get 1000 points = $1.00. We always pay off our trips this way.

Yes.......getting a 100 dollar gift card during the promotion means you will get 40 cents of per gallon up to 35 gallons in one fill up. We bring multiple family vehicles and usually get 20 to 30 gallons

I picked up a card today. When they are doing these promotions I buy gift cards to places we are going anyway. For example, we eat at Texas Roadhouse a lot, so I bought a $50 card to have for the next time we go there.
