Last minute trip; yay or nay?

We decided to go to DL next week and wondering if you think it’s a good idea or not, based on not having any dining reservations or any plans made already.

How hard is it to get reservations last minute to the popular restaurants? Which ones are they now a days?

Last time we went to DL was 2019 (as pass holders) so lots of new things to see and do. And I don’t want to miss them.

What are some definitely do-not-miss things to do?

Do you think a last minute trip is a bad idea? And I’m also ok with postponing the trip for late Sept / early October too.

Just make sure that park reservations are available before you buy your tickets. Spring Break season is in full swing!

You can look on the app and see real time dining reservation availability. It is going to be tight for many places, but with the new cancellation policy, many wait until the day-of to cancel, and you can try to pick those up (there are free and paid dining alert services that you can use).

Note also that Halloween time is the busiest time at DL now, so September/early October may be much, much more crowded than you are remembering. MUCH. The OBB parties are going to likely start in early September (if not late August) this year, and that brings even more crowds, along with early closure of DCA on party nights to non-party guests.

A last minute trip is ALWAYS a good idea. Depending on party size- you might be able to get walk up seating for a sit down (when you’re near enough a restaurant, you can join in the app). We’ve had good luck with that!
