This was the subject line of an email I just got from our CDD. Apparently people have been calling them complaining about seeing alligators roaming our neighborhood. We sometimes see them in the retention ponds but don't often see them come out. Of course, everybody knows never to let a pet out unleashed (we have no stray pet problems here).
The CDD says that May is alligator mating season and the males come out of their respective ponds to look for a mate. Apparently we just have to sit tight until mating season is over.
I'm probably being overprotective but for the rest of the school year (all two weeks of it) I'll be driving my son in rather than having him ride his bike.
