London Trip - on a budget

For cost effective accommodation I would suggest Googling university rooms. There are lots of halls of residence around London, some of which are in really great locations, and rooms are often available from June to September.

There are a wide variety of options available and it can be particularly good for people who want a single room with self catering facilities.

Sounds like you plan get a flat and that that will be in your budget (sounds wonderful). Couldn't help through putting in a plug for the Oxford Street Youth hostel when budget trip and London are mentioned in the same sentance. This particular one is very centrally located and takes families and older people, not just young people. It's just a clean, friendly, fun place:

They have cooking facilities. You don't have your own bathroom, but you have a bathroom to use privately right close by. There always seemed to be one available. And you can get a private room.
