Magic Bands?

So what is the latest? Do Magic bands work for anything in Aulani? Should we bring them?

We go later this month but I've heard you can use them to open your room door and charge to the room. Hopefully someone who has gone recently can confirm!

Magic Bands work for pretty much everything at Aulani. But you'll still need to bring your room key with you for some things.

We haven’t gone in about a year, but at that time a couple of kiosks didn’t have the updated readers yet, so they needed a room key. I would hope by now that’s resolved.

Everything worked last month and all the cast members knew what to do as well. The app even has a section now that says "MagicBands at Aulani," so it's a little more official than it's been in the past. There still aren't any for sale.

The last time I saw them was pre-covid.

We were there last week and had MagicBand+. They opened the door, the parking garage gate and we were able to use them to charge stuff to our account at all outlets... many places actually preferred it when we used our bands. PhotoPass did NOT use MagicBands.

Interestingly, the bands lighted up with haptic responses when in the lobby area, or near it and also near one of the DVC demo room.

We were there for a week last May. We used Magic Bands to park, open doors, charge to the room. Just as you would at WDW.
