Magic Kingdom opening show still a-go with railroad closure?

I have seen that the railroad at MK will be closed for a while (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm).

Any idea on if this affects the opening show?

Show always goes on as normal with the only difference being that characters are staged in the Main Street Station and walk out instead of ride in on the train.

The opening show will be retired it seems for a new show on 9 January...

There's a new thread dedicated to the new show and MK entrance. The last welcome show on the train station will be performed Jan 8th

So sorry to see this go. We have not seen this in many years. We were down this past May and October and never made it. Oh well, we will have to check out the new one next time.

The show always goes on through Railroad closures, just without the train, however they are going to a new show at the Castle, which is a controversial move. We'll just have to see how that goes.
