Day 5 â World Showcase
Cast â Snowman (AKA Tia, obsessive trip planner, 2nd trip to WDW)
Stoney (AKA Darla, Cinderella fan, 2nd trip to WDW)
Carl (the nephew, turning 7 at WDW, 1st trip to WDW)
Dates â Nov 11-17, 2000
Resort â Dixie Landings
When the bus stops Carl wants to get MushuâÂÂs autograph, but the Genie is right in front of us so we get his first. Then the hunt for Mushu begins. We know heâÂÂs there, we saw him get off the bus, but where did he go. We find & collect Terk, we see Mickey, Donald & Piglet but canâÂÂt find Mushu. Finally we do find him, on the far side of the Pavilion. NOTE â the characters spread waaaay out. So you may spend more time finding them than waiting in line. After Mushu Carl gets Rafiki, then we sit and rest while the characters load up and move on.
Our next stop is Funnel cakes in the US. Too crunchy, nothing special. Then itâÂÂs on to Japan for Kaki Gori. After Japan we total skip Morocco and France. We see the Living Statues but there are so many people crowded around that we couldnâÂÂt get a close look anyway. We had a late lunch/early dinner at Rose & Crown in UK. We all had fish and chips. I didnâÂÂt think the fish was anything special, the batter had an odd flavor to it. But, the service was very friendly. Afterwards we shared a Millennium special dessert. The Chocolate Spaceship Earth w/ filling was great. The meal only came to about $40.00 for all of us. On our way out of WS, Darla just has to try some champagne, then her day is complete.
When we get back to Future World the Fountain is on again, so Carl just has to conduct it one last time before we leave. Then we take a taxi (too lazy to walk to the bus stop) back to DxL. It was $8.00 well spent. Going to the pool would be nice, but it is a bit too cool for that, so we feed the fish, play at the arcade and just hang out. Later we get a snack at the food court, Carl & Tia share a cheeseburger & an extra order of fries. We head to bed early so we can get a good start on MGM.
