Hello everyone!
My name is Brian and this is our familys PTR for May 2017. First a little background. My DW, DD(6), DS(4) and DS(2) are headed to the happiest place on earth again. What do I mean by this? Well back in 2012 was our first trip. I took DW there with DS because I wanted her to experience what it was like before we got deep into our family life as she had never been to the happiest place on earth. I convinced her to go and her comments upon return amounted to "I didn't realize how much I would enjoy watching DD's love and excitement". Well I didn't know it at the time but this got her hooked. I wouldn't call myself crazy over Disney however you don't have to do a lot to convince me to take a trip either. Well since that first trip we've been back in 2013, 2016 and now 2017. A quick look back on that trip and the moments that made her fall in love with Disney
Let me introduce you to the family
DW - Katie loves her kids and has admitted that she thouroughly enjoys her time with the family at Disney. She enjoys long walks on the beach, the Polynesian and KONA COFFEE. On her first visit she drank a whole pot and was READY to tackle all things Disney and was ready to go, can we go, lets hop on the monorail, how long will it take...!!!
DD(6) - Teaghan has a great love for life. She wants to be a scientist when she grows up and loves everything princess. When you ask her to name her favorite she answers "all of them" every time
DS(4) - Declan is a little fire plug. He enjoyed his last visit to Disney however we think it's going to be different this time for him as he's grown into a kid that has found purpose in Mickey Mouse. When he met him last year for the first time he was a little star struck.
DS(2) - Killian is our youngest and his personality is really starting to come through. He loves singing along to the various Disney Jr. shows and loves Mickey, Pluto and Goofy.
Quick sidebar on this one. In the picture above with Wizard Mickey you see Killian in the picture in an awesome way. He did a lot of running around last year but anytime someone would tell him to say cheese he would run into his spot in front, look at the camera and say cheese long enough to get some cool shots like the one shown and off he would go exploring.
Our trip started from some conversation about what to do this year and once we decided we were not going to use the vacation club we decided on Disney. I got lucky and was able to book the Contemporary Garden wing which we figured would save us some money. We were happy about this until my wife pointed out a conversation she had with DD where she told her we might not stay at the polynesian this time around. DD pointed out to her that this wasn't possible because she loved the smell of the resort when you walk in and the rooms that smelled like bamboo were our Disney Vacation home. Now my DW loving the poly pointed this out to me and with my daughter having me wrapped around my finger and realizing the memories we had started to create by staying at the poly in past visits I could no longer justify the difference in price and we rebooked. DW took the time to point out that when she voiced similar concerns I had not changed so I'm still taking some heat on that one. I tried explaining that when both of my girls wanted the same thing I cared for both of them enough to make it happen. I can still see the sideways glance I got from her and I won't be using that again any time soon.
We're staying for 7 nights and 8 days and our schedule is packed full of rides, experiences and most of all fun! We're going to MK, DHS and Epcot. We've found that 4 parks is a bit much and we switch between Epcot and Animal Kingdom in different years. We're going to be there around the time that Pandora opens so maybe this will work out in our favor with the crowds. DD loves space so Epcot and Mission Space was this choice this time around.
