We will be in DLP 4/7/22-4/10/22. Looking for lunch and dinner recommendations. Leaning towards Walt’s and Remy’s but open to other sit down and counter services. Thanks

I've never been to Walts so can't comment on that but Remys is nice and ill be going back there when we go next October again.
Have you thought about Captain Jack's in the Disneyland Park? This was one of our most favourite meals. We have a fish soup for starters and I was expecting it to be really strong and smelly but oh my gosh, it was to die for!

We quite like Walt's. You will especially enjoy it there if you are a fan of the man himself, as it is steeped in history and ambiance. We enjoyed our food as well and the service was excellent on our most recent visit.

Keep in mind, Walt's has been closed for a really long time, even before Covid. There is no announcement about when it will reopen.

I liked the atmosphere at Remy's but I wasn't a big fan of the food. I will give Captain Jack another try end of this month. The Silver Spur Steakhouse is still on my list, it's currently quick service, but normally it's table service.
My all time favourite is Café Agrabah (lunch only), great atmosphere and selection.
If it comes back, the best value I ever got out of a character meal was the princess breakfast at the Auberge, 40 euro for 3 characters plus an interesting breakfast selection.

Counter service favourites are Hakuna Matata, Toad Hall, Lucky Nugget. And for snacks Cafe de la Brousse for Chicken Nuggets :) Also the milkshakes at Victoria's are really nice.
I used to avoid Hyperion but I heard the quality is better now.

In the village: Annette's Diner, Rain Forest Cafe and King Ludwig's Castle.
In the hotels, we only did the dinner buffet at Hunter;s Grill in Sequoia Lodge, which had a very good selection. Heard good things about the buffet at Cape Cod in New Port Bay.

As always the advice for people used to the US parks: Disneyland Paris is not a dining destination, keep your expectations low, don't compare too much to the US parks, and keep in mind in France table service takes time. It's not a rushed experience. 1,5 hours or longer is considered normal for a table service.

Same thoughts for Remy's for us as well. Underwhelmed by the meals themselves.

Another one here saying the same thing. I enjoyed the experience, I'm glad I went there, won't be in a rush to return. I went about an hour before park closing. We ended up being still in the park after they'd shut and had to be escorted out by CMs they let us stop for a couple of photos without anyone else in the background which was nice. But they wouldn't let us out on our own. We had to wait for two other tables, who were still on deserts when we'd finished to be done. Then they took us all together so we ended up waiting around for a good 20 mins if not longer waiting for these other groups to be done, which was frustrating cos we were wasting that we could of been spending in the other park which was open til later, but the photo opps helped ease this pain.

Quite agree! We went because everyone tells you its amazing. The theming is great; the food and the service was very disappointing.
You'd get a much better steak at the steakhouse in the village.
Agrabah Cafe is great for lunch, loads of choice, not too heavy.

We also like Plaza Gardens buffet for dinner.

Walt’s nicest place in probably any Disney park.

Are you safe and away from the floods? It sounds horrendous.

Are you safe and away from the floods? It sounds horrendous.

Thank you for asking :) yes, I am fine. It is mainly the South East where it is very bad. No electricity in certain areas, trucks with food to supply supermarkets cannot reach their destinations. For now no deaths (unlike Germany). Just a lot of people evacuated from their houses.

Next to that, today a crime journalist who got shot 1.5 weeks ago passed away (Peter R. De Vries, outside NL mainly known from his book about the Heineken kidnapping and the case Natalee Holloway), so today is not the best day in NL.

Any idea why Walt’s is closed?
In 2019 it closed for a 2 month renovation in October/November. It reopened for 2 weeks in February 2020 for the holiday weeks in France. Then Covid happened. They say the restaurant stayed closed after the renovation due to budget reasons. As the culture in France for table service is at least 1.5-2 hours, even longer at an upscale establishment like Walt's, they couldn't serve many guests per day and make money on it.

My assumption is that Walt's was mainly aimed at non-French guests. At the moment due to the travel measures, the % of French guests is higher than it normally is. So no reason to open it now. Plus with social distancing the amount of guests per sitting would be even less.

We haven't heard anything, I assume the restaurant will reopen for the 30th anniversary. Seems like a good moment. Depending of course how the world looks then.

Tonight I went to Captain Jack's, for the secnd time, the first time was about ten years ago. The menu never was really my thing, and the last time I didn't like the food. But it was time for a new try, we did go for the 42-euro menu with a starter, main & dessert, which is cheaper than just a starter & main. I only liked one option from each course, but it was absolutely delicious.

I had the chicken with pickled vegetables as a starter. I had expected something small. I was wrong, it was a lot of vegetables (not a lot of chicken), for main I had the vegetably curry with rice, also not a small portion. And ended with the rice pudding with mango. The last one was the best. I would go there just for this dessert.

Happy to have tried it again. It's too expensive for every trip, but once in a while, definitely keeping it on the list.
