Voilà!! My post on the new Four Seasons!
I had to visit this place with a hard hat as it was still a construction site...
My impressions:
This place will look amazing
My final thoughts:
Wow!... this will be expensive!
My contacts were great! and they would reply to my emails quickly.
I cannot post pictures per se, but after its opening I might be able...
Ok, I gotta give it to them that even without the site being finished, decor and basically everything looked amazing! My initial thought about the ceremony site did stay the same though - it's basically a lot of cut grass in front of the pond.
We tried to find another ceremony space and there is in front of the reception halls... This whole area looked awesome and intimate but of course, we were the only ones there... Now when the hotel will open, not too sure how intimate this place is going to be with people walking around.
The main expense is supper and we do not have the budget to cater a reception hall. The option would be a private dinner at the Capa restaurant's private room. The menu actually just came out and at the looks of it, it's not too fancy and well a bit overpriced compared to what you are getting from Il Mulino.

Now they will cater up to 35 people but I am now really not loving the menu :-/
PLUS it costs 750$ extra to get the private dining?... that doesn't make any sense to me!
The ideal would be to have a catered reception, but the room will look silly with not even the half full. The rooms looks astonishing and nothing to do with good old convention halls... The light fixtures are to die for!
Anyways, I know I'm not fresh from my visit to give all the details - but I just felt that the hotel was out of my league. I didn't feel that I would be able to offer such an expensive option and would just like to have a more "us" feel to the evening.
I was starting to think that I would need a high-end photographer, a high-end this, that...
Some important details:
- The Magic Kingdom is a tiny, tiny little speck in the view from the hotel. I'm not even sure what fireworks we would actually see from the hotel. Really!
- I asked the coordinator "so, would all the vendors be coordinating with you for the day-of?" Both staff members looked at each other saying, we got to clarify this up...
Well guess what? Even though the cost of having a ceremony at the FS is the same price as the Swan - well, this doesn't cover a day-of coordinator... so what does the cost of the ceremony venue cover? the venue and chairs I guess...
I dunno, the hotel looks great but just a little too much hype. I know the FS is reknown, but hey - you guys are NEW! wouldn't you want to encourage weddings?
Plus, I really didn't feel in Disney anymore at all... The hotel is in a little VIP secluded area in Orlando that you don't really feel anywhere than in a upscale snobby area of town. At 500$ a night, I'm pretty sure not everyone will be staying at this hotel!
My DF would love to have the wedding at this venue, but I don't think it will be possible.
