My husband and I are 40 and 41. We are leaving all the kids at home and traveling with another couple. We will get off of a cruise ship in Ft Lauderdale and drive to Orlando on a Thursday (a month from tomorrow )
I currently have reservations for three nights at the Wilderness Lodge. The room was $159 per night, but we decided to share the room since we wouldn't be in it much and they added $25 each so the final price is $209 per night. We have been to Disneyland several times, but never Orlando, and we have never chosen to stay "on property" before.
Is it worth the money?? I've read reviews on trip advisor and they say the towel rods fall off and that the shower curtains are moldy and the rooms are so small that you can't turn around. Hopefully, some of this is exaggeration. None of us are very large people, but we are all grown ups )
I've looked at the Celebration Hotel, it looks really nice...does it count as a "Disney Hotel" for the extended hours? The Gaylord sounds nice, or the Hilton, and some of those are pretty reasonable, so for the same price (or close to it) we could get two rooms...
Any and all advice will be appreciated. Both couples have 4 kids and although theirs are grown now, none of us have traveled kid free till now, so we want to make the best of it...
Thanks again!
