New to Universal, Disney veteran

Planning a 4 day trip to Universal in October, 2 adults only. Planning on staying at Royal Pacific Resort. I know the ins and outs of Disney discounts, what are Universal tips? Is it still best to look at Orbitz for hotels and Undercover Tourist for tickets? Is booking packages through Universal directly ever beat 3rd party discounts? Thanks in advance.

Are you staying four nights? You might be eligable for the Stay More, Save More discount. Check out the Loews Univeral resort website.

Actually the US site is pretty good at listing the discounts. I would also use mousesavers.com. Finally if you don't want to do the work and research we have used Dreams Unlimited TA. They own this site we have used them several times and they look for the best rate and then later if it drops they will adjust your reservation.

Thanks all. I checked MouseSavers and it looks like a lot of the Disney tips apply here as well. Think we'll go with cheaptickets and undercover tourist.
