How is Disney Springs on New Years Eve? We have done Epcot on New years eve before and it was insane!! We loved it but want to do something else.

Well NYE is one of if not the busiest day at WDW. So Disney Springs is bound to be busy. It likely won't be as crowded as Epcot or MK but expect lots of people. There are no fireworks there but some dining venues will have events.

Also it probably is the worst for traffic. People tend to go to the parks and stay there all day so traffic around the parks is not awful after the noon hour but DS gets people coming and going all day long, the parking is free so lots of locals head there to celebrate even if there aren't any fireworks happening. If you're staying on site there is a dedicated bus lane reserved for resort buses but only for a short portion of travel

I’d avoid this area if you had a car. Can’t speak about the WDW busses but even an average weekend night the traffic and parking is awful. New Years would be horrible traffic here.

We were at DS the Saturday night before NYE this past year and you could barely walk. Lines were 30-40 minutes for anything walk up. It was crazy! For NYE or anywhere near NYE I wouldn’t set foot in DS without a set dining reservation.

We usually stay out of the parks on 12/31. Usually we wake up a bit later and go to DS for a late breakfast or lunch. Every year we've gone, they're typically setting up pop-up bars around the area. We did dinner at Raglan one year. They had a countdown at 7pm (I believe) to celebrate the new year in Ireland.

It's fun, but it always feels like you're missing out a bit. There's no fireworks. It's also a weird crowd. It's different from the parks, where Disney could cut off the crowds after a certain amount. At DS, they could just pile people in which results in loooong lines.
