Non Royal Caribbean Excursions in Falmouth, Jamaica

Upfront I would like to say I am not an experienced cruiser. This will only be my second. My family and I have a cruise planned next month on the Odyssey. One of our stops is Falmouth, Jamaica. My question is about booking excursions through outside companies and not through Royal Caribbean. I know I have read that’s not always the best idea because you’re kind of on your own and not under the protection of RC. But I’m not really impressed with what they have to offer. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on this subject? Thanks in advance!

I have used Viator in the past to book excursions. Not for that port but I didn’t have any issues.
