Thank you podcast crew for reading my mind! Hubby and I have decided that our next big summer vacation is going to be a cruise and we were strongly leaning towards a 7 day Eastern on RCCL! We will be booking when the time comes!

some of us are less patient than others (as in yours truly - impatience is my middle name)...

is there an icon for fingers drumming on the desk?

anyone know what are 'good' rooms on the oasis?
or a good location?

i don't know anything about RCCL or the oasis......
time to study a bit...

I know nothing about RCCL either...anyone have good tips on rooms and dining? Also info on their kids and teens clubs?

there's a really great trip report over on cruise critic that will make you want to hop right onto the allure - which is essentially the same as the oasis.

it's a family with 3 kids - age 5, 12 and 15 - or thereabouts....
all her kids LOVED the kids clubs.....

i'll see if i can find the link....i read it a few months ago......right before the podcast with the reviews of the allure/oasis....

my daughter is going on a cruise in Alaska with RCCL so i've had the opportunity to see how they work in terms of getting excursions and the like. I've been pretty favorably impressed so far....i'm interested to see how DD likes it as compared to DCL, the only other cruise line she's been on. But she'll be on the radiance of the seas - the RCCL ship that does the one way alaska cruises (she'll be on a southbound cruise).

anyway, ever since i read the trip report i've been itching to get onto the allure or oasis. And then came the podcast review of them and that sealed the deal for me.
And now, with this not-podcast 1.0 - life is grand!!!

This is all fantastic information. It's one of the DIS trips that we might actually be able to swing and I'm so excited to learn more about it! But I'll try to be patient. I also contacted Tracey H (Traceyh@dreamsunlimitedtravel) and let her know I was interested (per Pete's comment on the podcast) so hopefully more info will be coming via e-mail too! Thanks everyone for the links! they will really help!

We cruised on the Freedom of the Seas last November and loved it. The Freedom is one "class" smaller than the Oasis. We are booked on the Oasis for this January.

I have been on this ship and I will tell you all it is AMAZING!!! Rock climbing, zip line, ice skating rink, a park with real trees, a boardwalk with a carousel, casino, just amazing!!!

This is probably a stupid question but are those activities free once you're on board?

I believe that most if not all are free based on what I read on the Oasis website. Maybe someone else knows more?

Yes. The most you pay for is drinks, sodas (you can purchase a soda package). And the specialty dining is extra. And yes casino is not free :(

Well my plan is take the $$ I win at the casino and pay for drinks with it lmao

It's free to go *into* the casino. Coming back out, not so much! :thumbsup2

Ah, good point.

So to get back on topic, I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos that have been taken on board. The concept of Central Park, open to the sky, intrigues me. I think you could forget you are on a cruise ship.
