Nov 7 - Ratatouille - Don’t bother

That’s Disney’s single-most-overlooked opportunity in the parks right now: marketing to line-standers (hostages). I suspect Disney plans to ease into that, AFTER longer line-waits become normalized in guests’ minds.

If Disney started offering sales in the lines right now, visitors would connect it to Disney purposefully keeping the lines longer to yield more sales. But after years pass and people accept long lines as the “new normal”, Disney can introduce items like food and merchandise into the queue. People will view it as an improvement because it offers a distraction to their long wait.
They DO have a food and drink cart (at least drinks not just water either) in Navi and it clogs the lines down but they do have it there.

In all seriousness it would be a good idea for the biggest attractions to have a bathroom along the queue.
Why? I know it might be a little bit complicated logistically but a small family restroom with a waiting area doesn’t seem crazy. If someone in your party needs the restroom you move out of line, they do what they need to do and you re-join the line.

Epcot really sucked the past 2 days. This is my first time visiting and it was miserable. The way they shuffled people around while the half marathon was going on at the same time was horrendous. It’s been impossible to find food because the waits are sooooo long and there’s barely any place with mobile order in Epcot. I wanted to enjoy the food/wine festival but can’t spend 30 minutes in each line for a tiny bite of food! Remy being down almost the entire day was also a pain in the ***. At least I got to ride Cosmic Rewind 5 times in 2 days...that made things a little better!
I advise you to send a follow up email to WDW's guest services when you return describing your experience. Maybe in the future they will do things a little differently. They do read the responses, though it takes some time. We should all give direct feedback if we want the place to be better.

Jersey Week always happens the week Election Day falls. Other events that increase attendance often overlap as well, like what happened this year with runDisney, Veteran’s Day and other fall school breaks.

Not sure why my statement nudges the assumption I’m blaming guests.

My only motivation was to simplify and make remembering for future years easier.
Avoid Election Day week.
That is the doozy that will be much busier than surrounding weeks.

ALWAYS check predicted crowd attendance before a DW trip. No one should be grumpy with the crowds if they choose to visit during heavy crowd dates,……..

Avatar has restrooms in the middle of the queue and I’ve heard that Rise CMs can escort you to a restroom if needed as well. When I’ve been in the Rise queue there have been CMs standing in certain paths to exit corridors.

This is cool! I had no idea. Always fast passed or rope dropped FoP so never noticed. And it’s nice that you can be escorted on other attractions if needed.

Disney is now a waste of time unless you pay the queue jumping up charges.

In this case the crowd calendars were way wrong for that week. I’m looking at the historical data and on one site they predicted a 4 and actual was a 9.

People get Election Day off work/school? Where?
Virginia gets Election Day off from school, too. We're from a large county in northern Virginia and we had Election Day and Veteran's Day off. Next year, they made the Monday a teacher workday so we'll have 3 days off that week. Flights from Dulles to MCO were pretty full last week.

Jersey Week was shown as a 4?!

Yes, that Monday was the worst of it from what I can tell from on site reports and crowd calendars had that day as a 4 as well.

I don’t know how they all missed Jersey Week and the end of the Marathon and didn’t increase the expected crowds rating.

Avatar having restrooms was a later addition I believe. We went the first year it was opened when lines were hours long. My husband specifically asked a cast member and was told there wasn't any restrooms in the queue. My husband finally told the CM he could no longer wait as he needed to use the restroom urgently. At that point the CM showed him an exit. (He did get a return paper ticket to ride thru the FP lane. He didn't return, but the pass was given.)
